A question I've always had but never sought the answer to. So, who is this company who claim the publishing and copyright ownership on the London-era CDs? I presume they have something to do with London?

I always thought it was New Order's publishing name for their songs. A play on the term Middle Aged.

That's always been my puzzle - it seems to be unique to JD and NO. Could it be a company that was set up to deal with publishing and copyright due to Factory going bust?

I always thought CentreDate was NewOrder.

Hm... I don't know for sure - but all my NO & JD CDs that I bought one by one in 1994 had the CentreDate Ltd copyright.

It's not their publishing company for sure - like Nick said they had Be Music. I think it's something that was made up at London Records in 1992 exlusively for Factory's catalogue or particarly NO's - a little copyright subdivision of London. Maybe it had something to do with dealing with Wilson. I have JD's Substance CD released in 1992 - it had two logos - Factory's and London's but Unknown Pleasures released the same year had only CenreDate Ltd copyright and London Records address.

CentreDate IS (ot at least WAS) New Order's publishing company. It was formed prior the release of Republic.

I clearly remember reading this in an interview, somewhere in a magazine.

Didn't Republic come out under Polydor, but was copyrighted by Centedata.

Centredata has since changed its name to Laurel Records Limited

Don't quote me on this but I think GainWest is their management who took over after the death of Rob Gretton.

Centre Date could be their music publishers which formed after the demise of Factory in 92. I'm not sure if Be Music still exist as they were mentioned as co-publishers as far back as Power, Corruption and Lies.

I'm not expecting the band to clarify all this, by the way!

Laurel Record were formed in 20-11-1992 (is this when they signed to London ?) and their ultimate parent company is Warner but they seem to be a dormat company (no activity that i can trace in the last 5 years)
