Hi folks

Remember, I am new to this site, so you may have run this thread before..but...

I got a party coming up and want to put together a NO remix/dance cd.

Everyone please name their fave NO remix.

Mine has to be Fine Time Silk Mix...how can you beat that for dancing to..the 1st time I heard it on Radio 1 is was amazed and I think it still stands proud now as a dance track!

Post your thoughts!

Paradise [Robert Racic Remix]...smokey percussion madness:smoking: Run 2 [Extended Version]...hip-hop beats meets guitar.dramatic intro.:thumb:

It's been done before, yes... but actually now I remember that the "published polls" are no longer there.. :eek3:

Another thing to plug back on the neverending work-in-progress that is NewOrderOnline.

My favorite is BLT's Shep Pettibone Remix... that is probably the only remix on which you don't care that much that Hooky's bass was removed. And don't get me wrong, I love the album version!!

has to be "Round and Round' (Club remix?) it's got a cool buildup a la trance music. "1963" the Arthur Baker remix is so much better than the original and "Ruined in a Da" remix, I don't know the name of the remix but it's around 120 bpms, bit slower than most NO remixes and it's got a nice dark sound to it.

It may not work with your club/dance night, but the best remix in my opinion is the Reunited in a Day of Ruined in a Day. Used to listen to that one on the shinkansen in Japan. Brilliant.

Spooky (Stadium Mix) Crystal (Cybersecrecy Shatterproof Mix) Confusion (Koma & Bones Vocal Mix) Someone Like You (James Holden Heavy Dub) Everything's Gone Green by Razed In Black World (The Price Of Dub) Evil Dust Here To Stay (Felix Da Housecat - Thee Extended Glitz Mix) Face Up by Labster 586 (Peter Black Remix) Blue Monday (Rob Searle White Label Mix) Bizarre Love Triangle (2003 Instrumental dMIX) Touched By The Hand Of God '98

Here to Stay - Felix Da Housecat: if that doesn't get the party moving it's dead

Yeah, Peter Black's 586 mix is great, and I really like Digweed & Muir's Crystal, but my favourite's are the Morel True Faith remixes.

Kiss of Death, although I am not quite sure if that would classify as a remix or not.

For a chill out moment i suggest FIRE ISLAND REMIX of REGRET.Then go and steal a few of those BETTER beers people have left cooling in your KITCHEN.And make sure SHUGZV ain't on your guestlist cos he needs a new FRIDGE.:D

:thumb: Absolutely yes, the best remix ever... there are some other great, but this is special because it took a rather weak song and made it a masterpiece, while Hardfloor made a fantastic remix of Blue Monday, for example, but the original was already excellent.

There are a few that you could argue are better than the original tracks:

Touched by the Hand of God (12") Fine Time Silk Mix Round & Round (Ben Grosse or Stephen Hague mixes) World Perfecto Mix Ruined in a Day Reunited in a Day mix Spooky (Stadium or Night Tripper mixes) Nineteen 63-'95 Arthur Baker remix

'True Faith(morning sun remix)'.

ALL PERFECTO REMIXES OF NEW ORDER ARE SHITE!

Ruined in a Day (Reunited in a Day Remix by K-Klass).

I couldn't believe my ears the first time I heard that mix because I thought the original song was a bit blend and didn't qualify as a single.

Both Perfecto's and K-Klass (Pharmacy Mix?) remixes of World were very good of course, as almost ANY remix of Spooky which were a lot better than the original song once again.

Other remix that comes to mind: the remix of Touched By The Hand of God found on (the rest of) New Order.

Finally, the Club Mix of Round & Round and the Dance Mix of BLT are the best among the "classic" remixes.

Buy Reason 2.5, download the tracks in midi format and do your own. I've got a shit load of my 'own' new order remixes. Unfortunately they are all crap, but at least I've tried!!

I am really fond of the vanishing point extended version but its not a remix just an extended version.

It was only on the Factory 12" single. Limited to 20,000 copies,it was remixed by Scott Litt who was the producer of REM. Its a good version, and exactly the type of thing missing from 'Retro'.

As a straight forward club mix, I think that Pump Panel Confusion thingy is head and shoulders above everything that's ever been done to New Order's muzak. Stick that one on in the gym and you could punch through walls!

For pure listenability though in the comfort of your own home: Reunited In A Day and World Perfecto.

However, I must be the only New Order fan alive who thought every single mix of Spooky was shit.
