The single is due in a little over 3 weeks, and no sign of the video yet? The music channels on TV are normally so ahead you think the songs have been released. Typical NewOrder.
... but glad to see that obviously the video is included on the CD-Single and not separated on a further useless DVD of "Krafty"...

Which page on Warners? I can't find it.
Five tracks on one cd? I don't think this is the UK release then, because there are rules to be counted towards chart entry:
Max. 21 mins total on a CD etc.
There's usually a 2 track CD's at 1.99 for the kids to afford.
My guess is that there's a DVD as well.

http://www.warnermusic.de -> right bar NEW ORDER -> Discografie -> Krafty... there you go!
The Uk changed the cd singles rules so you can have up to 40 mins on a single if it consists of different versions of the same track. So based on this there will probably be this cd, a 12" with the same tracks (although obviously without the video) and the second cd will be a £1.99 two tracker, probably the radio edit and and edit of one of the remixes. Sounds interesting.

Whaaat? People are actually gonna BUY this? When you can download Krafty for FREE! Think of the band's feelings. They're artists, they do this for the lurv of the muzak. They are not simply prostituting themselves for your fcuking pleasure! ![]()
Buying music is killing music! ![]()

What? So there's TWO New Order fans in Aberdeen??? Surely this means they HAVE to play a date at the Music Hall??:D

Most of the singles which are released as a two-track CD single priced £1.99 and a three- or four-track enhanced CD priced at £2.99/£3.99 tend to be released by EMI, although other record companies have started to follow suit.
And that's a good thing... and why I always bought the domestic version... or US version, which always have everything on it.
More expensive though... a single is around 10$ usually. I don't have any hopes that Krafty will be released in Canada however.. the singles section is getting smaller every day at every record shop...
Extrememly disappointed at the lack of B sides! They shouldn't complain if people won't buy the single for just one song they can download everywhere. Crystal was great because it brought us Behind Closed Doors, just like in the golden age True Faith brought us 1963... people are more willing to spend money for two songs than one, though the remixes can be good. Well, there's the video at least... but don't expect this single to top the chart... it's not even a proper dance song, so you won't even get the kind of people who usually buy dance singles though they're just filled with remixes... it's still a guitar pop song, and you get the kind of customer who looks at the single sleeve and says "What? No extra track? Leave it on the shelf then". What a shame... we'll all buy it though, if only for the video and you never know, some remixes may be good... By the way, is it only one CD? What happened to the CD1 and CD2 strategy which increased the sales?!
i'm very sure that "Krafty" will have VERY dancefloor friendly remixes with beats that do not resemble the original...
it would be nice to have some new "actual" New Order content. the Technique singles had a nice little instramental. the Republic singles had pretty much nothing, except for a "leftover" instramental, sounds like unused instramental parts stuck together, not really much of a song, and thats it. thou one remix of "Regret" was the bands mix, which was nice.
the only complaint I have about the remixes is that they tend to throw money at a lot of remixers, more quanity than quality, hoping something ends up a hit on the floor. sort of hit or miss to wade thru them all, at times
the Phones reality mix sounds hot thou
recently (i don´t remember which one or when) i read an interview where Barney said they had 18 tracks recorded and they chose to put 11 on the album and leave the other 7 for a next album as they were very good. so that could explain the lack of Bsides on WFTSC´s singles.... ![]()

and the theory was, if there are no b-side songs on krafty another NO album is due within the next 12 months.
That's the frikkin Chaos Theory innit? Two New Order studio albums in 12 months? Might cause another tidal wave somewhere.

If they're gonna add "fillers" instead of B-Sides, they might as well release new remixes of older tracks.
It would be nice to have fresh mixes of Mr. Disco and Vanishing Point, for instance. Or anything from Low Life. Or why not release thos infamous unreleased remixes of YOUNG OFFENDER that were hidden in a drawer in PolyGram Canads's offices back in 1993 (got this info from a reliable source at the time).

We might have known! It's most probably going to be put back by a week or two. Next to no radio play (however radio1 do not surprise me), no vid on MTV let alone MTV2 and no news on Amazon who are ususally first to list preleases many weeks / months in advance.
If that's the case dem bootleggers and car booters are going to be buying a yacht better than Barneys by the time Krafty & WFTSC come out.
what can you do new order have always just got on with the music and the music industry is so fickly.when you get to were new order are you need to be spending all your time trying to save the world to get notice.

That is funny indeed.
Must have been waiting for the artwork I guess.

I always prefere a remix of a GREAT song instead of a CRAP leftover track!
The only problem is that New Order, or the record company, have made some
really bad choices when it comes to remixing artists... with the exception of the
Chemical Brothers and Howie B's non-official Age of Consent version there has
been nothing to enjoy ever since, let's say Run2. For a band that has been crucial
for getting people with an 'indie' background to enjoy dance music I find this very dissapointing! Why not try JON KENNEDY, RJD2 or french genius SNOOZE this time?
These are all 'dance' people who, like New Order, enjoy a great melody instead of losing themselves in boring, trance-like soundscapes like we've had over the past 15 years! ![]()
Well, the remixers on show here include a number of the same remixers who recently remixed Mylo (The Glimmers, Riton, etc), so I have half an idea on what they will sound like...
But yeah, it's probably the record company who commision the remixers...
l8rs,
Nick ;)
I wonder what catalogue number this new single will get. I guess it must be NUOCD13, since the last London Records single was NUOCD12 (World In Motion).
I was hoping there'd be a B-side on this. I'm hoping the extended mix is quality since I didn't care for that electroclash sounding telephone mix. While I like remixes of their singles as much as the next guy, the original sounds fine as it is. Maybe it's their recent choice of remixers. Most of their remixes off GR were anything but memorable and the album versions were better, IMO.

*Uhm, I hope you're wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised if you were right... If it's like Hooky said, now the album's been bootleged Warners is going to decrease the support... I hope he's wrong since the very most of the most important releases today is bootleged, and promotion goes on anyway because there's still a wide part of the market to conquer... My nightmare would be to happen to WFTSC what happened to The Other Two's Superhighways... but I know with New Order it's different and they're already scheduled to appear at festivals so it might be just a question of few weeks. I still hope to order the single on the 7th...
Here you can listen to the Glimmers Dub version, it starts around 14.05 minutes in the show.
This is a completly different song! can't get the link working...![]()

At least it's the dub... back in 1995, this used to be called a remix... I'm curious to hear the real thing with full vocals...
Incredible how a remixer can be inspired.. indeed, this sounds like a total different song.

*Aphex Twin once amusedly admitted he sometimes gave some of his outtakes as remixes to artists, as they wouldn't know anyway if it was a "radical reworking" or a really different tracks. I think this is the case. The track is alright, but it's not Krafty. It's just one of the tracks of this bloke, he placed a loop of a sample of Bernard's voice on it (even changing the melody) and the "remix" was made... Oi, the smilies don't work, at least in the old editor...
