If I had more caffeine in my system right now I could probably make some snide and witty comment about that MasterCard dongle.

Me thinks there might have been some Pernod and Asti on Messrs Sumner & Hooks table at the Brits, judging by the way they walked down the stairs to the awards podium. (played Krafty as they came down)

Barney was wandering around, coudn't keep still  and handed over the announcing to "my friend peter". At this point Hooky's eyes :rolling:

And when the Scissor Sisters won best International act (av that Bono!) Barney looked like the cheeky little school boy behind, popping his head up above what seemed the taller Sisters. Hooky actually stepped aside and let Barney get his mug in the shot.

Guess they were there just incase LWTUA won. Nothing to do with promoting a new single of course.

Oh yeah and I'm sure Barney's died his hair a slightly rusty colour (gone are those greyish blonde brown flecks).

Bleach is out this year then all you fashion gurus.

Chris Evans (cocksucker) introduced Hooky and Barney to the stage...."two men who helped change Dance music forever, and have been doing so for the last 20 years, Bernard Sumner and peter Hook"

Barney and Hooky stroll on and tell Evans he forgot to mention they were "living legends" Barney introduces the nominees and hands to Hooky who says something like "Hello to my wife, kids and Salford" looking into the crowd at the front of the stage "It's just as well I don't drink anymore, otherwise I'd have eaten half of you lot"

Gwen Stefani dropped their name while collecting her award too.

Next year's lifetime achievement, then?

A wee bit in todays DAILY RECORD from FF :

When asked about the US version of the Brits, Alex insisted "We'll be sick of it by then. These award ceremonies are great but I'd much rather be sitting at home, enjoying a cup of tea with the other three guys in the band and writing songs. But seeing the likes of New Order and Siouxsie Sioux at The Brits was pretty special. They are great artists who have meant so much to us all over the years - truly inspirational British artists who have been at the forefront of musical innovation."

Good lad.

Its about time they were recognised, no matter what you think of the Brits. The fact Hooky and Barney were there means it may have meant something to them had LWTUA won.

Whats with Geldof getting the lifetime achievement award, for F sake.

Your not Ming the Mercilles in disguise?

Mr. Gandalf has saved millions of lives which could have contributed to the award. They must have had a long debate - the last I heard one Boomtown Rats album alone wiped out an entire island back in '79, the poor bastards didn't stand a chance.

At the risk of sounding like a massive namedropper I've had a night out in the company of Chris Evans, Five Bellies and Gary Lineker's brother back in 1998. They came into the boozer I worked in one Monday night and joined me and my two mates as we were the only other folk in the place.

We proceeded to get royally pissed and take them on a tour of Glasgow's Monday night highlights ending up in The Garage Nightclub where to top it off I got battered by two blokes in the toilet for reasons I was too drunk to work out. A surreal night out to say the least!

Always thought Evans was a twat up til then but a more genuinely down to earth bloke you'll never meet. Five Bellies was also a gent. Gary Lineker's brother however was a cunt.

Saw Kasabian live last night, didn't think they were particularly spectacular. Goldie Lookin' Chain were with them - now those lads are dynamite. Pure entertainment!

geldof might have done a fair bit for charity, but nothing for music.

I suggested NO for this about three months ago and got slated, but as you said, they would probably appreciate the recognition, we know they deserve it, the old punk philosophy is stupid now.

Fair play G-Man, but Evans still hasnae been forgiven for appearing on TFI with the Rangers tracksuit;)

Shug, did you tape the clip of Barney and Hooky on the Brits and if so, you know whats coming next, giz a copy:evil4:

It looked like Hooky had just come out of the bar as he stumbled down the stairs - 'Evening'! Then there's some classic Hooky when the winners are announced:

Barney: Alright, my friend here Peter's gonna introduce the winner. And the winner is...

Hooky: Hang on a minute. It's a good thing I don't drink anymore cos I'd have killed half uh you lot. Anyway, a big shout out to Salford, my wife and my children...

I think Hooky was pissed off at LWTUA not winning the Best Song of the past 25 years thing. He takes such things much more seriously than Barney...

I was well shocked when I saw Barney and Hooky step up:eek: I doubt they were there because they thought they would bag the Brits 25 best song award for LWTUA though, because I reckon there was always going to be only one winner there :nonono:

Funny enough did anyone see the 'Bizarre' pages in the Sun today? They've come up with their own nominations for best song of last 25 years and are putting it to the vote with their readers. Blue Monday and LWTUA are both listed.

Williams did sing just the one line "love, love will tear us apart" after he finished his song. Not sure if it was supposed to be homage to the song or whether he thought he could ermm... stoke (pardon the pun)Barney and Hooky and us fans into some argument and/or fight as he had beaten LWTUA to the winning post.Unfortunately for him we`re more sophisticated than Oasis and are above arguing (except Hooky :evil4:)

I watched the coverage here in Canada yesterday evening, but must have missed the top 25 section that LWTUA did not win. Saw Barney and Hooky announce and Mr. Williams do his LWTUA thing. Ms. Stefani name dropped too.

When in the broadcast is the section that LWTUA was nominated for ?

Thks
