Who's Joe has surely gotta be a shoe-in for the opening song this year? Builds slowly with strings, 'kicks' a bit when everything finally comes together, and it's got a lovely geetar refrain repeated throughout. Only weakpoint is the vocal ain't the best when Barney finally starts singing.

2nd song would need to be a stormer though to properly annnounce the band's arrival - a Ceremony, Transmission or Regret I'd say.

Think Krafty could be a contender. The tempo is about right for an opening track, it'll be instantly familiar by the time the concerts come around and also new.

i guess it's "krafty". "crystal" was the 1st single AND the album-opener... so quite obvious to start with.. "lordsy" isn't well known to the not(yet)familiarwithneworderaudience, so i think it's krafty...

Yeah Krafty! Something powerful and riffy to pull the kids away from McFly on the Fisher Price stage at Glastonbury.

Who's Joe? for sure! I cant see it any other way.

To say Krafty will because it's the first single and Crystal was the first, is not good enough. They started the original Get ready tour with Atmosphere, and it wasn't until the single was out for a while that they moved it to 1st, to make way for their big Joy division set. And Dream Attack was the main opener for technique, and Ruined in a day was the main opener for rebublic. (It would be a very nice suprise to see Turn as the opener)

If the band does not practise I can see them opening with Crystal, and play almost the same set as Get ready, because that is all Barney can do these days. But if they practise I truly think we are in for a big Sirens treat!!! As they will play 7 or more songs from it. I dont think they will try any older songs that they did not play since 1998. Maybe 1 or 2 at the most. Let just say Hooky is going to have his hands full getting Barney to learn Sirens.

Al you seen them alot, you should know what I'm getting at.

I'd like them to open with Murder and then build momentum with Who's Joe, and then Krafty, followed by Regret, Round & Round, True Faith, Waiting For The Siren's Call and As It Is When It Was. :thumb:

At least for Coachella, I am going to go with Regret into Who's Joe.....something about Regret and California.....

Er, didn't they open with Atmosphere last two times they played California? In fact, didn't they open their 93 shows with Ruined (can't remember if they played Californa then, or not?)

I went to both the 1993 Shoreline Amphitheatre and Hollywood Bowl shows and yes, they opened each with 'Ruined...'. Although the Elektric Music intro was only used at Shoreline.

edit- had misspelled Elektric.

I can see them using Who's Joe because of the dramatic strings at the beginning. Then again, it isn't the most up-tempo song to crank off with, so maybe Crystal or Regret or....I don't know. I'd like to be surprised.

Must admit I'd like to see a DNE, Chosen Time or a TPK or even a STTYT but this is highly unlikely since its been over 15-20 years since these were last played.

Predictibly it'll be one of your Crystals, Regrets or newbies I would have thought.

I really like Hey Joe (My Favourite so far), and think it would be a great opener.

They'll probably start with Who's Joe, because of the instrumental intro. They seem to like to start their shows with lame taped introes.

Murder, followed by Hurt & EGGreen. Then just repeat them for the gig & encore with Age of Consent (shug:thumb:)

Gotta be Krafty keeping in tradition with Regret opening and Crystal opening as their last singles.
