If they don't release Turn as a single I will be very, very annoyed

Without a shadow of a doubt!

Just had it on continuous repeat whilst getting ready, Gonna watch the first half of the Mancy Derby then run down the pub for the Celtic game. I'm in a great mood.

What an album!!!

Turn and Who's Joe. Though I love Dracula, a single it should be not. Definitely.

Is there any way that all us NOOLers can start pertitioning at this early stage (this thread or another) for "Turn" to be a future single. I know some of you have contacts to the bands management and I presume Nic has Warner's email address, so at least we can have a good stab at some NOOL fan power by contacting the people that matter!

Why bother you might ask? Well an experiment more than anything to see if they'd listen to a few hundred signatures/posts from some of No's most committed (& obsessed  ) fans. And we know a potential hit when we hear one...not some industry big wigs or even the bands management.

Sorry for those of you that haven't heard Turn yet, but come March I'm sure you will rather have Turn as a single than say the average Jetstream.

New Order can not be remembered for just having World in Motion as their only number one single!!!

You Brits are out of your minds.

This song has no radio potential whatsoever. I just don'T understand your fascination with this track, which I qualify as "good" but not any better.

Such a single would turn out as a total flop in North America. Avoid at all cost.

I think its great too. Hey Joe is better though!

Singles aren't always the best songs though. A lot of people thought any one of Mr. Disco, Vanishing Point, or Dream Attack were the best songs from Technique but they weren't singles. I among others (even in news/mag reviews) felt Primitive Notion was the best track off Get Ready and it wasn't a single. They haven't even cracked that one open live yet! Nope, New Order will release what they release and I don't think they are influenced by anything hehe. However, with this WFTSC album, I don't think there is a bad song to choose from.

I like Turn a hell of a lot more than Krafty and Jetstream, but it's a song that should become a live classic for the Order rather than be made into a single.

The sleeve would be something like:

in what countries would "Turn" get any radio play? seriously. it might get some play on "alternative/ college" radio in the USA, but it wouldnt get play on mainstream pop, or mainstream rock, or mainstream dance-club, or bland adult contempory... the only point of having a single is to get some sort of public play... so what would be the point of having "Turn" a single?

I also like "Turn", quite a lot, but I simply can't imagine it being remixed to fill the other tracks on the single. There is no way that New Order are going to change what they planned for the next singles. The second single is the title track and the third one is "Jetstream", live with that.

You may or not like Turn... But I can't understand why anyone should have any doubt that if released it would become a MASSIVE hit... It will become popular anyway... TV series, movies and ads will start using it and people will want to have the song they heard there... the only difference is the popularity will come from compilations rather than a single. Turn is the indie UK version of the American commercial rock of the last decade... it's also a great song which is emotional and at the same time peaceful... every time it springs to mind makes me feel good... these are all important factors for worldwide success, the most of the non-fanatical people just wanna feel alright when hearing a song (while we may look also for deeper emotions, I'm talking about the general audience)... OF COURSE it will be a huge success for New Order. I'm still happy because Krafty, Sirens and Jet are good singles (Jet is also good for TV usage). But they won't ever go near to the popularity Turn may have... With Turn we would have witnessed to a wide success seen only with True Faith. World In Motion, after all, was a hit only in England... all over the world New Order are known for Blue Monday (which became popular in many years though) and True Faith (the only true hit worldwide). Turn would have been another song like that. A missed opportunity, even more than Vanishing Point...

I absolutely agree absolutely Turn should be a single, I love the song! However I do think Morning Night And Day should come out before it as I love it more (although only a *tiny* bit more :D) In this rare case I would not give a toss what New Order release off the new album, I think the whole thing sounds fucking tremendous anyway!

My first thought on hearing turn was "fook me, a number one they'll DESERVE". Wonderful track.....a little less than totally New Order, but then THEY are a little less than totally New Order :)

As for our friends in the USofA......no offence chaps and chapesses, but having heard what DOES play well on the radio over there ( cos we get it ramemed down our throats too), saying that this song wont is a fairly bloody ringing endorsement as far as I can see......Not good for US radio=not Britney/eminem ( or enema or whatever the hell the little white-trash-poster-child-for-mandatory-abortion-for-those-of-sub-human-intellignce is called). Not just having a Euro-twat rant about "all american culture sucks", there's great music over there, but you see SO little evidenc of it on the media. Having said that, maybe local radio is wildly different from what those of us outside the US may expect.

I agree with your opinion whole-heartedly. As awesome as "Turn" is, it just wouldn't make it as a single in the U.S. Maybe if it was 1994 and had some play on top 40 and alternative radio, it could've been a minor alternative rock hit. But these days, no sir, it just wouldn't do that well.

Turn would be college rock here. Maybe a supermarket radio song in 15 years or so like True Faith.

Hi, first post. I totally agree. To me, Turn is the best song in the album. And the album is absolutely great. I love it. (Sorry about my english...) :read:

Y'know there's one thing we're missing. New Order have turned into the same rip off merchants as every other major band.......singles on albums.....errr not....not very New Order is it....and MULTIPLE singles.....oh PLEASE!!!.

PS Alex.....this is a new order forum.....we're all used to folk with english as a 2nd ( or 3rd, 4th, 5th, nth) language.....like...Barney. Besides, your English is better than my attempts at your local tongue I assure you ( wherever you're from)

Hopefully they release turn. I think is a corker of a song. One of the best i've heard since they did run this river dry and behind closed doors

why is it new order never seem to release the best songs off the albums as singles? (for example Primitive notion, vanishing point, special, paradise etc..), ive heard 10 of the 11 tracks off the new album and i think they all sound great in their own right but my personal favs are, turn, morning night and day, jetstream and wftsc..........:thumb:
