I like the only 2 Bloc Party songs Ive heard. Hardly re-inventing the wheel though
I've never heard Bloc Party, but from the magazine articles they struck me as one of the upcoming also-ran indie XTC/Talking Heads art rock rehashes like Dogs Die in Hot in Hot Cars.
Interpol only sounded convincingly like Joy Division on one of their tracks on the debut album, Obstacle 1, title in itself is a blatant reference/ripoff of JD.
Belfast has a bit more excitement to it that bloc party. and thats saying something.

It may surprise you to know that i have a third of a masters degree now. I got my results yesterday, well, apart from one. passed easily. Despite writing an essay with the deliberate intention of annoying my tutor.

Jesus : I have nothing to show for all the political stuff Ive ever done (item 106 on the "reasons I shouldnt have done engineering list"). Well done on the masters BTW. Is the tutor one of these pesky left liberal types?
Doesnt Terry Eagleton teach in MCR university? Do you have any contact with him? I really like his writings.

Can anyone tell me what bloc party have done to recieve all this praise? I saw them live the other week and did absolutely nothing to impress me. Unlike the 3 other bands i saw that night.
