I'm currently listening to the legal sampler - I shall back-up the non-vote just now.

I was unable to access the legal sampler. I think I prefer to wait anyway.

I read the posts about the legal sampler and general concensus was that the compilation was made up of the more naughty tracks. I have now listened and can confirm that the four advertised are naughty ... but nice.

A mini-review (although 'warning!' - spoiler territory ahead):

Krispy is cheeky and amiable.

One sounds a bit like the Mondays, but could potentially grow towards Tuesday with time. Doubtful it could make Thursday and most definitely never a Friday night. It zips and it bangs but its a little too medium sized for my palette.

Another song had a chorus which went something like 'J' ... 'B' ... 'L' which usually spells disaster but thankfully wasn't that trecherous. PC&L's mantle is safe. Think Spooky country and you wouldn't be miles out.

The much debated 'Bernard Caribbean' number was a fruitful delight. I very much liked it - it has a pinch of sadness with a lovely thick detailed wash of keyboards and sounds. I think you'll like it. The most feared, the most beauty. Ain't it always the same.

Thus far, I'd say the songs create a little more optimism than the 30 second pre-cursors to GTR. And lest we forget, we are enjoying a fourth summer with these people.

RealPlayer is required to hear these - its a twenty second download and install job. And is of course, legal.

I'm not. I'm at work doing not much at all. I wont be listening to it at home, as downloading isnt an option on my rather crappy computer

OK, H, I listened to the legal four. Jetstream was awful, I thought. I Told You So sounds somewhat promising. I'm not sure yet about Working Overtime. In this company, Krafty is sounding much better.

Looking at the bigger picture, each track stands above their contemporaries on GTR, which surely bodes better at this stage of the game.

There is much talk of 'Turn' being a classic which makes a potent trio with Krispy and the Caribbean Queen and a 'friend' of mine has just confirmed his (or her) reaction on the title track ...

Yes, H, in retrospect, GR was a bit thin. I'm cautiously optimistic, as they say in certain circles.

Despite not picking up on that lead-in P with my friend, I can add more hope to your cautious optimism.

WFTSC is a beautiful song wrapped in jangling guitars, precisely stroked rythmns, stupendous massaging bass and a lyric sung from the shores of a desert island. Leave My Wife well Alone, I wish to Turn my Feet and remedy this day with a tonic what the Sirens call their own.

I confess, H, that each of your posts presents so many threads that potentially might be picked up, I sometimes fail to respond to important points. So I trust your "friend" has not engaged in any behavior you would not approve of in forming this evaluation of the so-called "title track"?

My friend and/or distant relative, perhaps associate, or maybe even colleague simply mooted the word 'evaluation' after describing his or her innocuous listen. He proceeded to emphatically insist that she was unable to re-conjur the magic now that the source material had been withdrawn, hopefully returned to its former, rightful owner.

The Temptation was always there, of course, but that was the LP version and he or she already had that on his or her iPod.

It's good to know, by the way, that storks are both rhythmic and precise.

It's classy once you listen to it for about 3 days straight. Then again, I may be brainwashed. If I sat around listening to Stalin's speeches for 3 days running, I'd probably say he was on to something too.
