It should be renamed "I wouldn't normally go to Dracula's Castle". That is sooooo Pet Shop Boyish 
This site should have a New Order complaint department seperate from the digital republic. I keep seeing the same 4 or 5 people trashing/making fun of New Order's stuff. WHYYYYYYYY? New Order are the best dammit!

Good question. One possible answer for this is: because we can.
If you want to take everything New Order does as gospel worthy, be my guest. But the fact that a band capable of producing such undisputed musical wonders as Temptation and Ceremony can then produce something like Republic, leads me to think that maybe New Order isn't some holy being after all. Take those diehard Cure fans, for example, who say that Little Robert Smith can do no wrong, despite some truly awful shit that he's produced over the years. You're welcome to apply that same logic here if you want, but as long as there are fans, there will always be dissent. If we all agreed that New Order was a flawless act that somehow justified our existence, we'd all be goosestepping to the beat of Blue Monday long ago.

I don't feel that everything New Order does is gospel-worthy, I guess I just don't get why people who have little or nothing good to say about them, bother. I don't care for it when people can't look at stuff (new order) objectively but I see a lot more critizism than the group deserves. New Order makes great music, that's why this website exists.

I believe in my over 4100 posts to date, I've given New Order more than their due of praise. In fact, if you'll peruse the recent track-by-track album reviews, you'll find my honest opinion of the band's output over the years. Then check back here and tell me I haven't properly appreciated their work.
Well thats fine, but initially I was talking about a general theme I get from the board from people who didn't like republic, dont like wftsc, only liked parts of get ready and go on and on about stuff from like 20 years ago. way overcritical, not too insightful, and unfair since the 3 albums are all unlike one another.

Anyway, I've kind of supported the Dracula's Castle song and name. I love the song and the name is like nothing else in popular music pretty much.
I have nothing against the song itself. It's a solid track on a solid album. No complaints with it but the name.
There is a reason why a title like "Dracula's Castle" doesn't appear in popular music. And that is because that sort of name is already being used by bands like Type O Negative and the Misfits.

I agree with you. Popey has used his "over 4100" posts spouting off about books, articles and recordings that he's recently become familiar with. He's a septic-come-lately, no more, no less.
By the way, I haven't heard 'Dracula's Castle' and it may be shit. I just find the Pope using his post count as justification of his credibility distasteful.
British humour can sometimes be mistaken for criticism. I don't think I've ever seen a genuinely upset fan on these boards posting any proper complaint about any particular song and really mean it (except Rock the Shithouse).
I think the Pope was merely suggesting that Castlevania was a fairly decent Konami release and that Dracula's Castle was somehow linked. The music was incidental, or in the case of the game rather than the New Order release, it featured incidental music.

Wasn't talking about them being Gods, wasn't talking about the pope guy specifically. I've had my share of objectivity on this site too. I'll try explaining it one more time, I think New Order gets more critizism on their fan site than they deserve. If this specific thread was a joke (I still think Dracula's Castle is a good original name) then yeah, I missed it. Not as easy to read tone/context/etc when things are typed.
