Has Peter Saville done the artwork for the new LP? Was it delivered on time?

‘Well, we had a problem with the sleeve. You go and see Saville and he swans about and you say get on with it, that’s generally how it works. He needs a concept Peter. On this album it was going to be a Tahitian style lady in a lagoon, then the terrible tsunami happened in Asia and the sleeve felt a bit tasteless. So we changed it, it was nearly a yacht photograph for Bernard, but Peter went with a bright orange typeface, I haven’t seen it yet.

As Steve's response shows. I don't agree with changing it because of the tsunami: if 'a Tahitian style lady in a lagoon' evokes memories of the tsunami then people must have pretty warped imaginations. Anyway, of the options, what would people have preferred: what we've got, the original or the yacht photograph?

I don't know about the others but this white and orange one is just the worst New Order artwork ever. Even worst than Substance IMHO.

I can imagine it turned some heads in America. Not often you look through the racks and see something with a big NO on the front. Of course, once people realize what it is, they'll lose interest, not knowing who the band is.

Just one question. If its so bad,why have you gone to the trouble of making your avatar look like it?

Because it was easy and I am lazy. And I liked very much New Order going reggae-poppy with I Told You So.

The whole Bernard and the yachting photograph thing sounds like Simon LeBon and the yacht with Rio..
