It's 1.30am in Engerland, on a Monday too. And I have just had a BLACK CAB DRIVER back in my flat because SHE (yes, a female!) started banging on to me about New Order on the way home after I'd left a bar in Sloane Square.

In 15 years of living in London I have never had a FEMALE black cab driver take me home and have never had a long-winded chat with black cab drivers about anything bar general football violence.

So, she is now a proud member of the Viking fraternity and has a copy of the new album to boot (not that she got it from me, god forbid!).

All these years following this band and this is one of my most bizarre experiences ... right on home soil too!!!

And, of course, I do now have her phone number!

well it was not a conversation, but in 1989 I was on the subway and there was a black guy beside me with a big ass afro and he had a Run2 record in his hand.

It stuck me as being very odd.

Way back when, the cashier at the Tower Records seemed a tad weirded out that I was buying copies of Closer and Still rather than a Brand Nubian or Pharcide album
