Top Banana!

It's gonnae be mad.

We're looking at flying Thursday coming back Sunday. As fer the flight, no doubt Easy Jet from either Luton or Stanstead. Ryan Air don't fly direct to Barca, they fly to the other airport about 60 miles away (Fuck that)

Get yer names down or you're not getting in. Kicks like a mule. Back of the net.

Me, Shug, Dave and Don. All bought tickets. Plenty more to follow I should imagine. I'm going over Thursday to Sunday probably, not looked at flights yet.

Al/Shug - where are you staying, and what's the damage gonna be?? And what is all this T in the Park bollocks?? Only announcing their appearance after the fucking thing has sold out?? Can't believe I may well be travelling to Barca when I might miss them a few hours down the road....

Emailed my students to beg for a TITP ticket: I've had two replies, both asking double the face value. Tossers.

When did they confirm T IN THE PARK?I had been on the site the other week and it said ALL tickets had been sold.

Fradders - this could turn out quite lucrative. Work on 'em. I'll pay good coin for a ticket.

Ill be there. I need to visit the exam timetable first. Will probably fly direct from dublin to Girona with Ryanair, and then get the bus to BCN. Thursday to sunday, or I may pull a few more days out of it. Hostels in BCN are cheap and clean and central, so are flights (if done on time) and the cost of living (if you are used to fucking €5 for a filled roll Dublin). Anyone who has the inclination to get some gigs in, and has the free time should try and get this one in.

See you there :thumb:

p.s. anyone from the states or outside europr interested in this one?

There's a big feature in today's Daily Record, I scanned it here at work, I have sent it to Nicos so hopefully he will put the feature up.

Not confirmed just yet, but it looks good.....if you have a fucking ticket!

What a nightmare, after the first story in the record I posted a couple of weeks ago, I should have gambled:nonono:

As fer Barca, accomodation not yet sorted. Get looking Frads;)

What's the scoop? Is this a festival or what? According to Shug it is. More details please. I thought it was a club gig or summat. Is it outdoors? Is it in Barcelona? Is it a camping thing?

If it's in Barca and I can get to my apartment after it then I'm in. If it's a tent job and portaloos I'm out.

I'm very much thinking about going, as soon as I find out transport details (I'm not very fond of planes) and how to pay (still no PayPal available). Either this one or the German dates, but I'd like to see Barcelona anyway.

I've tried to delete thi double post, but got a form containing weird questions. Anyway, just posted on the Romanists forum, if I get a useful answer I'm in.

It's a three day festival that doesn't have a campsite. On the waterfront in Barcelona, near to all the amenities. If you know anyone with a helicopter or private plane that can get me to a wedding by noon on the Saturday I will pay very good money indeed!

I'm up fer it. Return from Glasgow Prestwick to Barca goin on the Thursday and back the Sunday is £216 inc tax on Ryanair. I was on the same flight three weeks ago and it was £25 return !!!!!!!

There is a cheaper (less than half price) if slightly less convenient way of doing it. Anyone wanting to go out of Glasgow mail me and I'll fill you in.

which quarter of the city is the festival forum? and in which quarter should I look for accomodation? Not too far from the festival.

I wouldnt worry about accomidation. Just turn up, get a bus from the Airport to the touristy area (around las ramblas) and theres millions of hotels and hostels. From what I gather the festival is near enough to that area.

Psychic TV on the bill too. Calling Jim Reilly and Jeff the Chef...

Booked and ready.

I remember I did that last time visiting Barcelona. But will that work when there's tens of thousands of festival people in the city?

BTW just booked my flight and the ticket for Barcelona :D

Sorry to drag this one to the tope again, but if anyone's looking to share accommodation for the festival please send me an email and we can work summat out.

I have a tendency to get very drunk but otherwise am relatively sane.

I'd just like to warn that some mates of mine tried that in Madrid two years ago and ended up sleeping on the roof of a public toilet.

In other news, I've tried research on the Roman Languages forum of my universtiy, but idiots there had thus far suggested hitchiking, walking, buying a Kona (I hate Konas. They have this way of luring people into dangerous and useless stunts, injuries everywhere), why not using a plane, and asking some (pressumably) basketball players to take me along. I'll do further research, what's the chance of it selling out soon ?

Gents.

Went to Barca last year for a long weekend.

We stopped in the Hotel Del Arc.

This was cheap and cheerful and in a great location at the bottom of The Ramblas. It is positioned very close to a Metro stop,so travel to the Forum where the gig takes place would be pretty painless.

Also the hotel is next door to a brothel !!!... ;)

Enjoy your trip fellas...After Rome its the best city in Europe.

as posted elsewhere its south east of the centre from the look of it

but as the bars are open til 6 do you really need a room?

nb - a word of warning on booking on easyjet - if you are watching flights to see if they change prices be advised that the price will appear to rise if you keep checking the same flight on the same computer - if you've been tracking a price try booking it on a different pc & the price will be less...
