Dunno what happened with that link. Go to dailyrecord.co.uk and a link to the story is on the main page.

Gotta love it, the scots will be amongst the first...

after the spanish, the germans, the americans, the english, the belgians...

Are they gonna play any non- festival dates in scotland/UK? the prospect of seeing them at a proper gig are looking increasingly fcuking slim with all these festival dates cropping up.....

the article doesn't say it is confirmed - quotes the organiser as saying contract hasn't been signed.....

These festivals are doing my head in, what a lazy bunch of tossers, how many people would have got a ticket for t in the park on the off chance that new order would play, i know i didnt.

I wouldnt be too upset (unless I had planned to do EVERY single date). T in the park is organised by the same people that do Oxegen in ireland. New Order will doubtless be at Oxegen. Its a terrible festival, about 1 hour outside dublin, in the middle of a racecourse. Ill go only cause its so near, and Ill know some others going, but like V, Id give it a miss unless necessary.

Now that would be a mare if Oxegen and T are sharing a bill - mind you, I suppose you Dubliners could keep us entertained to compensate for the inability to get in at T!

It's confirmed and has been for ages now. They were only given the green light to release the press release (with conditions) yesterday. Was widely discussed at the press launch three weeks ago which I was at.

Some lecturers extort sexual favours in exchange for good grades. You could get gig tickets instead Fradders! I'll put up a tidy sum if you can get any.

Believe me, some students (particularly those in Scotland) lose all self-respect and inhibitions after only a few drinks and launch themselves at their lecturers with a sexual ferocity I've rarely encountered before. It's one of the (few) perks of the job!!:smoking:

I've had a few more positive replies, Tim, so I'll let you know. One would-be tout clearly bought up a bunch of them when they went on sale for £90 last year and is asking me to make him an offer. Scots and their money, eh?!?

Even shandy is stronger than Scottish National Beverage, Tennants so-called "lager".;)

...though I'm still looking forward to that gig in Greenock, mate.:confused2:

Can anybody confirm which day the Order are doing TITP??? There are apparently several outlets still selling one day tickets......

And I do mean confirm before I splash the cash.

Where the fuck's that from, ya Morton pigsticker? Who's put off by the thought of Scots? If you hadn't noticed, tickets have sold out, and I'm not financing some E-bay chancer's heroin fix by paying over the odds.

Joining us for a shandy at the English shows are ye Gerry?

I like Oxegen.. its less than an hour from me on the south side of Maynooth, and its not too like a UK festival.

Oxegen, as described by one punter:

u knows it, glc were great at oxegen last year. been to oxegen or witness as it was know before a few times since i'm from ireland, the food is overpriced and crap, the weather is bad and there are usually more crap bands then good ones but i love oxegen above all other festivals. mostly cause of the campsite atmosphere, 100's of drunk irish people having a massive party.

Sounds like the worst festival in the world then?

Dunno if either of you or the original poster was being sarcastic, but I like Oxegen because its close by. Nothing else really.

Costs a lot less than some other festivals (E60/day), can drive to it easily and get home at night easily, and hence have this magical thing called a "SHOWER" in the morning and eat normal food.

Theres no phone coverage, the onsite sales of everything are EXPENSIVE, and they have some crap bands. But theres nowhere else I could have seen Orbital, the Divine Comedy, Electric Six, the Scissor Sisters and hear the Cure (I was leaving at the time) for a total outlay across the day of around 80 notes. Oh, and I got the DJ to play Blue Monday in the dance arena. In completion. VERY loud.

Sods law. Mind you, I'm not parting with any money for a ticket until I see New Order's name confirmed in big bold writing on the bill, either on paper or on their web site. There's an awful lot of samey shitty bands at T in the Park pretty much year after year, and despite our fab four appearing it's mostly the same deal this year (Foo Fighters, James Brown, The Clas..er Green Day). I've never really been interested in attending the festival before despite living only about an hour away but now NO's name has been linked I'm on the edge of my seat. Also I wouldn't mind seeing Kasabian, Ian Brown and Prodigy; they could be interesting. I have the offer of a weekend camping ticket from a mate but that could disappear at any time as he's out to make hard cash for it and I understand completely. I've offered him an amount he's prepared to accept (pricey, but not as bad as some of the eBay auctions I've seen) so all systems could be go there if he hangs onto it for a while.

But I'm not parting with a penny until New Order are 100% confirmed. Plus I haven't camped since I was a lad so that's even more expenditure for my comatose student bank account to deal with  But if I do end up going would be glad to hook up for a beer with any other NOOLers who managed to get tickets.

Ally.

old monkey, i will be going to england for a shandy, as i have done on many many occasions to see new order. as for paying for someones fix, there is an upside, if you give them cold hard smack in a wrap instead of money im sure they would knock the price down considerably.

Don't know why yer all gettin yer knickers in a twist about TITP (although I'm sorted, thank you Interbrew!). Has everyone forgotten about the warm-up gig at Greenock Working Men's Club?!!!

Enough Greenock baiting. My mate's managing The Yard up there at the minute and he assures me that it aint as bad as I remember during really fuckin scary visits with the school under 16's football team. I was in goals and there used to be bams standing right behind you (no nets) spitting on you and thretening to batter you for 90 minutes!
