Its a shame the Hacianda club started by NO went bust because of poor management. If it was still open I would like to see a worldwide chain, like have one in New York, in Paris, Moscow, or Toronto (near where I live) and so on. And would host gigs for artist like the original one in Manchester.

Leave it closed unless you want to do E in people's homes :p

if you have got the capital to fund this idea... go for it:rolleyes:

it's hard to run a club like a real business and survive... how many clubs can last a decade with the same ownership and without any major problems?! i think 3 years is a long time for a dance club in the US

Re-open where exactly? The site's been demolished and replaced by apartments - Hooky even manned the first bulldozer.

The Hac was a monument of the times, a cradle of acid house, an icon of early dance culture. Times have changed, there simply isn't the same energy and buzz about dance music any more. Let it rest.

I made a pilgrimage to the place but arrived there a few months too late in 1997. Gutted. Like the building.

so leave it in the past?

All chains are pale imitations of the real thing. It's an immutable law of nature.

The Planet Hollywood of nightclubs.

Owned in a triumvirate between Bernard Sumner, Shaun Ryder, and err, Tony Wilson? With no one but Raw-T and Young Offenders Institute and Vini Reilly playing live every other night? I'd give it about six months.:thumb:

Would be a neat place for all these neo-new wave artsty alsorans to perform under shitey conditions though.

No way, they turned the Hacianda into apartments? Just like they did with the Hacienda?

I have unseen self filmed footage of Hooky starting up the first digger and then smashing into the stage, abot 5 mins long. I'll try to find a way of posting it up on here.
