Headlined....

New Order. Their Astonishing Secret History.

Inventing The Killers. Being Godlike Geniuses. The Legend of Ian Curtis.

Inside, a two page interview, plus a two page spread of four up and coming bands, titled 'The New Order!', who are influenced by NO and these get a reviewing by Hooky.

Hooky mentions that he's been invited to play with a Joy Division tribute band although I have it on good authority that this offer was not extended by our friends Digital !.

In the singles review section, Krafty gets a positive response...'It works to formula, sure, but its the best-ever formula and still nuclear after all these years'.

Full page ad for Krafty which is of pull out and keep quality.

Just reading that NME now, it reads as though he is referring to Interpol as the JD tribute band, and that he was asked to play with them..... :laugh:

I know they have to make it relevant to "the kids", but it makes you want to fucking weep. Still, nice to see'em back on the front of the UK's premier weekly inkie. Er, I mean glossy. And only weekly music paper...

There is one great quote, though, about how the band's life on the road is still one of excess, and how they know "some dodgy characters". Mr Giles, Mr Jarvis - could they be talking about you.... :laugh:

Does anyone know if this is a UK-only mag, or would it be available in Canada? If not, I can always go to one of those world magazine/news stores..

Don't know about Winnipeg, but you can get the NME in Montreal.. the only problem is that you don't get the CD that comes with it..

But it's weeks later of course...
