#7 Get Ready by New Order
A comeback by alt-rock pioneers whose last release, nearly a decade ago, was easily forgotten. In other words, GET READY should have been worth on espin, tops. Instead, it's a remarkable resurrection of their influential, dance-meets-rock sound, with a newfound urgency, louder guitars, and one sumptuous hook after another.
Yeah, they fucking loved it in the review a few months back, from what I recall. Pleasently surprised it made the list (RS had it on a seperate "also worth mention" list, trendy bastards)

Bob Dylan, Spiritualized, Eliza Carthy, Loudon Wainwright III, Lucinda Williams, Eve, Leonard Cohen, Mary J. Blige, and .... obviously, The Strokes.
Haven't heard the new Dylan yet. Anyone know if it's any good?
Was tempted to pick up the Strokes LP Tuesday, but I opted for Radiohead's 7 Television Commercials instead. Fantasric video, btw

You took the words right out of my mouth. Fuck all the charts and annual top wathever listings as well. All we want is New Order.
I have to say, caught them on TV twice (the "Last Nite" video on MTV2 and on Conan O'Brien) and I like what I hear. So what that they cop the VU and Ramones licks, we need more of that sound.
Was Radiohead on the list? If not for the double team of GR/Weezer, that would be at the top of my list
