Barsteward didn't come on till 1am ... and this on a schoolnight too!

To be honest, worst set I've ever seen him perform. Opened with 'Love will keep us together' then went straight into a very strange mix of Krafty which sounded as though it was mashed up with Blue Monday. And then, beyond that, his set was pretty forgetable if I'm being honest. Did about an hour, but can't remember much more that he aired? Certainly no more New Order, I remember that much. If anyone thinks better please fill me in (fnar fnar).

Respect, as ever, to the 'ardcore: JG, Ness and Greg, Tim, JIM REILLY JIM REILLY, Will, Wazza, etc et cetera.

Oh, and for the lad who I was chatting to in the loos and said would look in here today (you know how you are!) I've got just what you're looking for, if you drop me an e-mail! Good gear, fella!

Indeed, the set was low key and brief. He played a nice mix of BLT towards the end which I'd never heard before.

The Krafty mix was quality. I've got seven different versions of this track [thankyou Ness!] but this wasn't any of those. And the vocals weren't in Japanese. He also dropped a Monaco track into the set but I'm fcuked if I can recall whoch one.

Highlight of the evening was chatting at the bar with Hacienda legend and M People main, er, person?, Mike Pickering. The [T] coy one was down there to check out El Presidente who played live and well worth checking out they were. He smiled when I mentioned 'Pigs and Battle Ships' to him. He must have thought, 'old fcuker!'.

The latest in the long line of Hoxton urchin bands were hilarious. The geeza slung his bass on the floor, snapped the neck off - not convinced he was trying to go that far mind - and then started trashing the house amps much to the displeasure of security, before storming off stage in a hissy fit. Thought it was gonna kick off for a minute . Chapter seven of How To Be A Rock Star in full effect

Secret is: don't wear the badge, 'ardcore! (although I wore mine last night cos I had a Vikings badge over it as I didn't want to bastardise the cloth!).
