Are we allowed to talk about the promos doing the rounds that have now superceded the MP3s none of us were, of course, listening to last month??

Where the fcuk has Ana Matronic gone on Jetstream?! It's Barney backed by, er, Barney, surely?! I can't hear a sniff of her in there anywhere unless someone can tell me different?!

That is very interesting...you might have a totally different version than what we have received (leaked, of course.)

I am positive that Ana Matronic is singing on the leaked version of that song. It is a definite woman singing during the second verse of that song and doing the backup vocals, plus some parts during the bridge...

Very weird...you should post it....

And what about the other tracks Al ...any significant differences ....?

Hmmm. All this talk about the finished version being quite different to what we all HAVEN`T been listening to since the beginning of February has got me a lot more excited for March 28th now:thumb:

No, you're right, Ana Matronic is DEFO on the version leaked a month back, but she's gone on the promo version. As has the 'in flight' talking and the whistled opening.

If she's gone then what a relief. Sorry to say but she sounds like a watered down version of Madonna (who I do not like personally). These "final" versions are sounding like they'll be a lot better than whats been leaked. By the way, I think the best part of Jetstream has to be the small guitar bridge, & of course Hooky's bass (sometimes I wonder if now adays if its really true that Hooky is what makes New order sound so above average).

it's Krafty that has a bernard re-edit.

Would it really be so difficult for Steve to watch the children while Gillian sings some backing vocals? Wouldn't that make everyone happy?

I really like what Ana adds to the song. It is really good. I can see getting ride of the "flight" samples; they are a little Cheesy...but hell, the song is damn cheesy.

"you are my jetstream lover..."

My wife always laughs when she hears that line...

I like the song either way...

I would actually like to hear this "ana-less" version. How different is it? Besides the lack of ana matronic (whose name is just cheesy...).

The version without Ana is somewhat flat. It misses something... which brings me to think that this version might actually be the one New Order did before calling Ana Matronic for help.

I'm no fan of female backing vocals in NO but the track is definitely lacking something without her. I honestly don't know whether it's going to please the Jetstream haters or not. But it's certainly less, erm, 'popstastic' now.

Without Ana = Album version

With Ana = Worldwide smash hit single version

That's what I'd have thought anyway? I actually prefer the one sans Scissor Sister.

There are also a few other tweaks on the "new" promo. As well as a few timing differences, Who's Joe? fades out to a definite ending, Working Overtime has a new intro, Siren's has a different ending and some choral backing vocals, Turn also has a more polished ending. Dracula's castle sounds different though I can't put my finger on exactly why. Overall, you can hear little production touches added to most of the tracks.

Cat out of bag I see.

I like the subtle flourishes added to what is already a kickin' tune in WFTSC.

:\pimp3:

PS OB, you might want to lose that errant apostrophe you've got there. Bet you wish you'd never started this now.

now i remember there was a mention back in January of them postponing the Q cash for questions interview to go into the studio to review the mix of Jetstream

I'll get the hang of that apostrophe if it kills me.

Cat still in bag as far as I'm concerned, it's the distribution, not the discussion that could be damaging.

Uhm, they've been talking about Ana on every interview, so I don't really think she'll be missing on either the single or album version... The track you talk about, Al, sounds more like an unfinished edit of the song, before they added her voice and all those other touches like the whistling at the beginning etc. Are you sure it's a recent promo? Whatever, she should definitely appear on both versions of Jet...

obvious good point, why would they be promoting her appearance so much already? i find her vocal to be nice... not too obtrusive, but with some personality. most of New Order's females backing vocals sound so faceless and generic they sound like an afterthought

Could it be possible that they are holding the Ana mix back for a single release while including an Ana-less version on the album ?.

Could be... but that doesn't explain the press release...
