"Krafty" is okay. Not terrible. In fact, some of the shots are lovely, and it gets points for simplicity.

But it's a little irksome that (like "Crystal" before it) it fetishizes youth so much. Especially when it would seem that the majority of their fanbase is over 25.

"Round and round" is a fantastic video, by the by.

"Round & round" is such an art video - static shots, edits that aren't in time with the music, the little subliminal hiccups. It's terrific. Very much a product of its time, sure, but still effective today.

Well I love it, it is ACE , but not as good Blue Monday.

i agree with spike. No NO in vid, then how do we know who made the song . Plus who wants to see 2 people making out in the song? whats the point of that. Plus the camera work makes me weezie and ill.

anyway, round and round is a great video, beacause the first girl on screen, is the hottest piece of ass i wanna tap all night to that song. blue monday is a great video with or without the band (with them made it better) it displayed nice imagery of stillness, rule of thirds, leading lines, shapes, and curves.. very artsy... im glad new order went for these directions to videos, would you rather have it R. Kelly style and watch barney come out of a pub drunk and battered, and see his girlfriend die in a motor cycle accident while they drove home, only for him to have sex with some other women who reminds him of her late wife.... and then to see hook succumb to his addiction to rogaine... oh

Any chance of them releasing a video comp on DVD? I mean, they never seem to balk at soaking the fans for shoddily repackaged material, and to be honest I haven't seen more than a handful of their videos over here anyways.

New Order don't produce promos that showcase the band looking gorgeous and miming to the music. For that - look elsewhere. I only saw Run once and I could remember it in every detail - it had a lasting impression on me. It's a piece of art that complements the music by adding a different dimension. Once you've seen the video, you get a different interpretation of the song. The same could be said for a lot of them.

The classic joke about New Order is the student at the disco miming “seeing a ship in the harbour to Blue Monday – New Order promos don’t do that.

For images of the band playing live, look at the live videos. Since their early days they have released live footage which should satisfy the need to see the live performance, why would the promos replicate that?

Shug’s raises a good question when he mentions that he’s never seen any of the promos sober. The band is (generally) well on record in their appreciation of altered states; why would they make art for sober people? If you don’t like what you see – perhaps another beer is the answer.

What do you want from your promos? It’s not really right to criticise what you see without suggesting an alternative.

I can think of few bands that have made better videos then New Order. Thank God they don't just mime to the music while some hack director throws in some flashy effects and some tits and ass. On every video they've done something creative and original and interesting except maybe Regret and Shellshock.

Glad to see someone appreciates the HTS video.

Also, I thought that the live video of World was rather good.
