Bloody hell, New Order at 'the State' Liverpool. The name of that club has brought back memories. One cool place back in the eighties just as acid music was kicking in. People rave on about how ahead of its time the Hacienda was, but the State was there a good 12 months earlier. This was a turning point for me in my life, as I realised there was an alternative way to go and have a good night. Up till then a Saturday night in the North West of England consisted of males dressed in Burtons clothes, getting pissed and kicking fuck out of each other, or anybody that looked or thought slighly different.
Oh happy days!
