that'll do it...

... in a movie studio!

has that been properly explored here before?

think you should start a thread huntsy. :evil4:

I think it has only been hinted at in the past Mr. Hibblesworth. Its always a rip-snorter of a topic though. There are still people out there who genuinely believe that males actually did touch down on Moonbase Alpha!

shortly before an asteroid knocked it out of earths gravity?

surely not mr huntswerth? despite all the evidence to the contrary?

Its all very simple:

'If' man touched down on the moons surface to scrape up a few rabbit droppings to analyse then surely, they would have returned for more analysis with a better rocket ship and more intergalactic snacks in subsequent years.

The astrophysicist will say; 'there is no need to go back, we obtained the info. the first time'.

Considering how many times researchers return to more boring 'interesting sites' I'm afriad that that little theory'ette is a tad difficult to stomach.

apart from the obvious cash constraints, natch.

So NASA can scramble endless flights to float around the Earth but not to drive to an actual moon (for £25 more)!?

I don't buy it ...

I just ... don't ... buy it.

mmm scrambled flights.

not towing the party line then? its the best excuse they have!

They took off , circled the earth a few hundred times and came back. No way that it was feasible to land a man on the moon in 1969 - the technology could not do it. Remember Apollo13 - they had to hit a re-entry window of a degree or  two - manually - give me a break ( as our American cousins would say ).

Think of the technology of your average American car in 2005 !!!! - makes a european one seem like the starship enterprise ( and not the original one at that - b,c or e or something - not a trekkie I am afraid ). Example - 2005 Ford Mustang - live rear axle ( what the f**k ) , 2005 Caddy - interior made by 3 year olds with some left over plastic , corners like a .... well it sometimes can turn a corner in Wyoming or somewhere - supposed to be a luxury car !!

So no way was it possible with the 1969 computer ability - less than a modern toaster. Not to mention the usual conspiracy stuff - some of which is quite convincing - dodgy photos ( shadows , all in focus , no stars , blah blah ) , no lander thrust marks on the ground , same backround in photos from different missions - hundreds of miles apart.

Lost the thread for a minute - excuse the pun - WFTSC - great , love it.

All of the things you mention have been utterly debunked a thousand times over. http://www.clavius.org/ is just one of many websites that do so.

And as for the technology issue -  the truth is that space hardware does not and never has required huge computing power. For example, the spacecaft I'm working on at the moment has a 15MHz processor, roughly 100 times slower than a two year old PC.

Debunked - yes , disproven - No

I beg you though - please do not use any Ford , GM , Chrysler parts for your spaceship - I want you to come back alive !!

I just re-read that "the spacecraft I'm currently working on" bit, and realised I probably come across as a complete nutter knocking up a UFO in my garden shed. Whilst that may or may not be true, I'll hastily point out that my job is genuinely the manufacture and test of space hardware. Honest.

I don't think its entirely fair play to administer a statement like

'the spacecraft I'm working on at the moment has a 15MHz processor' (Mr. Blue 2005)

'without' firstly clarifying whether aliens do actually exist.

Hey Joe, what you doing?  hijacking my thread

Couldn't say Huntsy... "the spacecraft that I'm currently working on" is an Earth observation satellite for atmospheric and surface forcasting. To know about aliens, I guess it would have to be pointing in the other direction.

And I'm really looking forward to the Virgin Radio interview, ahem.

DoN - I couldn't resist popping the odd 'Moon' question and when Bluey came out as a proper scientist then I was almost beyond myself.

I will reel myself back in.

I fully intend to comment on your new Krafty thread in an attempt to bring better coordination to the universe.

There's only one mammal I know that would dare such a cheeky maneuver. And he usually sports a submerged missile.

Quit making accusations and reveal your real self Pastie.

Just because you made the hat smiley work doesn't make you a hunting man. I can out you quite easily by encouraging you to pour scorn on the moon landing conspiracy.

If you are indeed implying that I may be Pastie, then you are very much mistaken. Firstly, he would never have posted this amount of words in one go, and he would find it almost impossible to post an incorrect speling.

If this continues Super DoN Quixote is going to revoke all of our licenses.

Well if you aren't Patsie who are you? The true Jedi Knight will always have his hat affixed firmly and a copy of Brothers in the Hood to consume whilst preparing eggs.

I have made inroads to ascertain precisely why my computing system will not permit the use of the hat smiley.

This is currently what happens ...

:hat:

As you can see - it is quite rubbish, and leaves me open for hooded beasts to masquerade as myself.

But get this, here is the post style 'ordinarily' broadcast by the the current impersonator:

During the Brisbane Wig-Wam Event last week, DJ Kangaroo Meat expedited a suitably impressive re-mix of Guilt.

For all those who were wanting to track this down, the catalogue no. is Oz:043 X87 50 60 70 version 2.1. Be sure to click to www.ozmeat.com to obtain this. I know I will!

G'Day cobblers.

The last time I saw such nonsense posted was when Old Bluebells had a dig at Turn My Feet. Look at that mammal above, the scribblings of an impersonator who's just thawed his frozen Red Leicester.

:hat:

Damn you.

Red Leicester is one of my preferred cheeses.

Never fear, I'll still be posting Birds Eye Potato Waffles long after the crow has flown East.

No!

Red Leicester is one of MY favourite cheeses.

Anyhow, I'm off now to design a few plastic items and to track down the spawn of shower spider. I shall weed you out another day, monkeynuts.

Yeah, that's right. You keep running.

How come only America has been to the moon? Why are you Brits stealing our scientific knowledge? We acquired it, so it's OURS!

Funny how Werner von Braun never became head honcho of NASA.  I wonder what possible reason they could have for never going through with that?

Just how many sites reffer to here as the official site?
