I have some ambivalence about this. Whether or not it is released as a single will not alter the fact that it is the best thing they have ever done. If it were released as a single and didn't do well, that might tarnish it's image (although not its quality). I certainly do not have overwhelming confidence that the pop music market would appreciate the quality of this item.

No, definitely not. There are other tracks which will be fine with a remix, e.g. Dracula, but not Turn.

Unfortunately I think you will be proved right Nick.  Can but dream though.  I think the same can be said about All the Way on Technique.  At the time that would have made a great single...however at least that got an outing 89/90ish.

Turn is a great song, unfortunately it sounds more like The Smith's than New Order.  Ironically, Marr and Electronic aren't contributing to this album, but maybe all those years as Electronic have made a Barnorrissey out of Barney.  We all know Barney is kind of a reluctant band-leader without much talent, but that's why he's so appealing, his lack of grandstanding that you see in ever other band.  I liked it better when he was trying to be Ian.  Phil's dry irony Brit-pop chord progressions that lack the emotional depth of earlier New Order aren't as permiating here as they are on say Hey Now.  The instrumentation on this song are by far the best New Order has ever done, this I will agree.  The lyrics are up there as well, but the downshift at the end of the melody feels like something is missing, "it's time for me to go-ooo, blah." and it cuts off the emotional impact of the song.  And like other songs on this album, the synths are too muted for my liking.  This song is a grower, though.

Great Song..The Corby Order played it about about 10 times last night on the way home from The Monday's gig

I voted YES just because it's a great song but I doubt it's gonna be a single.

Yes, I'm quite serious. Up until now my top spot went to LMA because of the wrenching melancholy that I really found nowhere else in their work, except TMW. Turn has the same quality, except it is better than LMA. The only possible conclusion is that Turn is now number 1.

The most insular NO should really remain to be found.

TMW, LMA, T etc. would be diluted if exposed to too much sunlight.

There are certain magical things too precious to sell.

Amen to that, H. They should also probably not be performed live, since it would be impossible to reproduce the perfection of the recorded originals.
