Bitterness and frustration

Where's the bitterness and frustration? I hear it not on WFTSC! It's a miracle!!!

True! The album is amazingly optimistic!

No one is guilty anymore because guilt is an useless emotion...

Agreed - it's mostly fairly optimistic, although 'Turn' does have some melancholic lyrical twists - "What do you want me to say, what we had has gone away" isn't too chirpy.

Good album though, isn't it? (to state the bloomin obvious)

I Told You So, and Dracula's Castle sound a frustrated and bitter, at least lyrically.  It is more optimistic than most New Order albums though.

The new sails obviously fit nicely.

there are touches of despair in a few of the lyrics if you listen.

There's a lot of despair on T11 ... mainly from me when I'm driving along and find it difficult to press the stop button before 3 seconds have elapsed.

I keep telling you, H, it's a key track. How will you ever hope to understand the album if you don't listen to track 11?

I haven't seen this ferocity in another man since Apollo Creed was simply wiped during The Rockford Files III.

Just to recap:

I have taken to the album in entirety, however, the album doesn't ebb and flow in quite the same way as a beautifully smooth wagon wheel, with T5 and T11 the speed bumps in the road.

I have tried my level best with T5 but as I've told you, so much is not to my taste apparatus. T11 I did declare as the track we don't mention, I'll just amend. that to the track I don't mention.

Who are the Stooges anyway? ... don't they poke each other in the eye?

If I was to sum up T11 in one word, then I would simply utilise the word chimp.

But to answer you specifically - I have listened to it now a few times, and can appreciate that the song forms a relief to the emotional uproar T10 leaves the mind and soul in - out there, on Mount Chicken Feed, lost above the clouds. T11 brings light relief whilst the rescue chopper navigates to the summit.

All of which doesn't mean I like it - its hog warts.
