German Dance Music Award Mar 12, 2005 - Milan

hi, so last night i received an award at the german dance music awards. it made me think of my first ever performance outside of the united states, which was in germany in 1990(i know...a long time ago...). it was organized by westbam and dj dick from low spirit, and they were also the first people to release one of my records('times up' by the brotherhood, and 'mobility/go'). so this award has a very special significance for me, and i want to say special thanks to all of the people in the german dance music community for giving me this award! thank you, moby

p.s-it was also nice to see new order, and to see them receive the 'lifetime achievement award.' and even though i like robbie williams, i still think that joy division should have won 'best song of the last 30 years' at the brits for 'love will tear us apart'.

He shouldn't furiously backtrack and blatantly tip toe around some of his fanbase who may also like Robbie Williams by saying "I like... but". My quote would have been more along the lines of "I can't believe such a superb song like LWTUA lost out to that talentless fat dancer Bob Williams and a song he had written for him because he's not clever nor creative enough to do it himself" but then again I'm not a short, bald techno wizard getting an award am I? :)

Totally agree with you, one of the reasons I hate Moby. I remember when Eminem was having a go about Moby once, and then Moby come out with saying "I have nothing against you as a creative individual, I think your stuff is great" ... etc etc ... Just fuck off to be honest.

If anybody does have it, have they got the bonus disc version and is it worth getting it for a few extra quid?

I'll be getting it when it comes out here in the states next week. His bonus ambient disc for Animal Rights was great. So I hope this bonus disc will be just as good.

I too have the music but not the record (I am actually planning on buying it) and I think it's really good so far. The first three tracks and "Very" are all excellent stuff. I thought "18" was really patchy and just "Play-lite" but this new album has interested me in Moby's stuff again. When I put it on and rather than skipping tracks it flowed quite well as an album and I didn't feel the need to leap to my iPod and hit the "next" button.

His interpretation of Temptation is... different. Some will like it and some will hate it. I don't think it's too bad although the singer fluffs a lyric or too. If he had done a straight version of the '87 version with his droney vocals that would've been boring. But overall I'd recommend it as a good album based on what I've heard so far.

I picked up Hotel tonight. I haven't listened to the bonus disc yet. The album is really good though.

I have it as well, I think it is great. There is one song I skip, but the rest are a go!
