Regret + Primitive Notion bass tabs

Just messing around on my bass and realized I have yet to see tabs for either song on the web. Any one here care to share how they play it? I'm new to the instrument but this is what I've got, both played on similar notes.

Regret intro

Primitive Notion

Sorry can't be much of a help here, but Regret at least should be easy, all the instrumentals are relatively simple on it (the drum pattern is fun) and I know for a fact that the guitar tabs for it are quite easy, typical Barney three-chord.

Ironically the first thing I ever learned to play was the bassline from Digital.

hmm i think what follows i wrote correctly......

It’s a variation of what he plays during chorus: (m=15, n=14)

G ---------------------------------------------------------- n--n-nnnn

D --m--m-m-m-m-m-17-m--m--m-m-m-17-m--m--m-m--17-

A 15-

play that twice, then,

G n--n-nnnn--17---m---n---n-n--17---m-n-m-n-

D --------------------------------------------------m------17--m-17-17—m-----n-----

Cool thing is during the chorus you can play the little medley he does with the notes above, or play the low end bass line on the E and A strings (which I do) like so:

A 0---0---0------0—0—3---3---3------------------------3---3---3----

E ----------------------------------------1---1---1---1-1

Or some variation of that. When you’re playing along you’ll figure out the exact rhythm. I would also recommend playing most NO songs in drop D tuning. You can hit most the highs (sometimes Hook uses a 5 string), and you’ll definitely hit all the lows (usually the synthesized bass lines in the songs).

Wow - that's not even close to how I play it - for me it's the following:

Chorus

D -10------10--------------10-----------------------

G----10-12---10-12-12-12-----10-12-14-12-10-9-7-7-7

x2, then:

D -10-10-10-10-10-10-12-10---10-10-10-10-10--------

G------------------------------------------0-0-0-0-0-0

Hooky 'Solo'

D-10-10-10-10-10-10--------------------------------------

x2, then:

...or there abouts.

As for Primitive Notion, I haven't tried the wholw thing, but the main Hooky riff is played on two strings at the same time (simililar to SLC) goes something like:

D-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-

G-10-10-10-10-14-14-14-14-12-12-12-12-10-10-10-10-12-12-12-7-7

Just remember Wasim, theres always more than one way to play a lick on the bass (or guitar), becuz you can play the same notes on different strings/frets. Whatever's easiest for you should be what you play! :music:

btw, what happened to the little guitar playin icon??

Thanks for the comments. My first go at tabbing.

I was listening to Temptation today and had a go at that. Intro goes something along the lines of

D------0 4 0 2---2 4 2 4 2 4 2 4

A--0 3

As has been said there's more than one way to play songs, was just interested in how people on here do it. Thanks for posting them tabs will have a go tonight.
