Thanks for your help, Hanko. I will listen to track 11 this evening with your corrections in hand to see if I agree. I suspect in most cases I will.

Sounds a damn site worse in isolation. The point about it being a kind of comedown track after Turn is very relevant.

Though I find nearly all the tracks sound better in context, even though I don't think it's that cohesive an album.

Just listening to it through headphones for the 1st time.

Except when driving, I always listen to music through headphones.

As I've said before, I don't make any claims for WO as a stand-alone item, but I think it plays an important role in the album as an overall whole.

Do you own a set of speakers?

I mostly like to shift some air.

You do notice a lot more through headphones though.

It's quite rough and muffled sounding in parts. I thought it was the MP3 quality and pre-production teething issues but it's still on the c.d.

Actually no, I don't own a set of speakers. It's much simpler this way. I just plug the headphones directly into the CD player.

You're right, it does sound muffled in places. But in general I think the sound quality is much better than on GR, don't you?

Actually a bigger complaint I have is the placement in the mix of BS's vocals on certain tracks. It sounds just a little wrong. Unfortunately at the moment I'm not remembering the tracks on which this is most bothersome. Have to report back on that point.

Much prefer the overall style of production and sound, haven't really made a note of who was responsible which track whilst listening to it. I know Price/LeCont did Jetstream and I don't like that direction.

He also did Guilt but I believe nothing else. Street did Turn and at least one other. Spencer is credited on track 3; I believe it's been said here that he is not an outsider.

I have listened to the song several times with Hank's corrections to my transcription in hand, and I endorse all of his changes. I'm still not quite 100% sure that it's "house music" rather than "dance music," but I'm at about 85%. There are two extremely important additional changes, though. In each case, there are four repetitions of "Overtime" after the last "Hey" rather than three. So here it is with all corrections incorporated:

House music all night long. As mentioned by Jarvo and Graeme Ferguson on another thread is actually a popular refrain from a much sampled Jungle Brothers track which featured on umpteem early house tracks.

God knows why he decided to insert into a Stooges track.
