Yes it's true... they have 7 songs already recorded, and it seems it will be released in July 2006.
Maybe those songs will even be played live this year..

Well, think about it this way, they recorded 18 tracks for Waiting For The Sirens' Call.
We could have had a 14 tracks album and 3 b-sides...
I believe this album would have been really solid, we'll see in full next year if they did the right thing.
You do wonder how their thought processes operate in this situation. Did they bang all the good ones out on WFTSC or did they do the judicious thing and save some crackers for the new album?
Recent interviews suggest Barney's pretty excited about the next one so let's hope ...

One of the interviews they said that the other 7 songs seemed to fit together, & these 11 fitted together

This date is just a guess, no one really has any idea when it will be released.
I'm wondering if they'll be any B-sides to the new singles on this album, or are they just going to be remixes?
And, are they gonna just leave the remaining tracks that didn't make the WFTSC cut and call that an album? Seems like they could add a few more tracks to make it a proper album! As much as they say 2006 is when it'll be released, I'm doubtful.
Last week, Stephen Morris told that "it misses 2 songs for the next album... at the beginning of 2006" ;-)
Hooky and Steve were asked on MTV what of the new songs do they like the most and they both said they both spoke of a track that will be on the new album, which coupled with the quality of WFTSC fills me with hope. I don't expect any great change in the quality or feel of the songs but I hope this next one will be as good as WFTSC.
Of course, WFTSC hasn't even come out over here yet so I'm just looking forward to what we've got at the moment. ![]()
No, they didn't pick the "bad ones" to make the new album.. they have a common link, they are all produced by Brian Higgins (as it was said on one interview)
This leaves no answer for "what the hell happened to Sugarcane produced by Tore Johanson?" ![]()
While it would be great to have two New Order albums released in consecutive years, I'm somewhat skeptical. But then they've always be a surprising band, haven't they?
if the bands are rushed, they can push for a less than good album rather they should spend time to get it right.
I know some guy who puts out a good album and next year its less than expectations.

They only have 4 songs to write actually to finish it, so it shouldn't be too hard.
Let's not forget, when Back to the Futurists 2 and 3 were filmed back-to-back, there was absolutely no lack of quality in evidence!
I often sit watching the second installment wondering if I could have done better in my sleeping hours.

Why not bung it out with the existing 7/8 tracks and add the Saville Soundtrack as a really long last track?
I'll get me coat...
This also means they have plenty of time to come up with cover art that doesn't 'offend' anybody. ![]()
