Most valuable NO possesion?

I had the (very) limited Factory directors badge (the one Wilson used to wear on TV). Had it's own FAC number and everything. I used to walk around school in '84 cool as fuck. Lost the fucker didnt I. Ugh!

Got it by virtue of my old man knowing an ex-Factory geezer. He got me the Hacienda xmas carol flexi disk by NO too...lost that aswell!

Still, his missus was filming them at the Hacienda in '86 and got us back in (after being thrown out for being under 18) so we watched the gig from the DJ booth.

Still miss that fuckin badge though...cool as fuck it was.

2nd would be my Barney plectrum *2, set list, and Barneys broken guitar string from Warrington '85. Yep, you guessed it, lost them aswell.

From Bradford University Oct 1981, I have a really cool photo of Barney that my friend Andy took, B&W, very moody.

I also had the set list, which I'd swear I tucked inside one of my LP sleeves but I can't find it right now.

I have Atmosphere on 12" in a wierd colored vinyl. It looks black in normal light, but hold it up to the light and it's a deep plum color - anyone heard of this before?

Yes. The US LP of Movement was made in three different colors: red, purple, and green - though you can only see it if you hold it up against a light-source.

Here's the info from the New Order Discography:

"If it [US Fact 50] has a purple translucent vinyl, then it is very rare (hold it up to a light, and the color, if any, is noticeable). Red colored are very scarce. This colors are the result of formulations used by rough trade in the original pressings, with the purple being the very first pressings. Early pressings also had the grinding wheel Fact logo stamped on the inner sleeve -- there should be no bar code on the back either!"

I have the red and purple ones. If anyone has the green version, please contact me.

I don't know, maybe some original 12"s (Ceremony, Temptation, Blue Monday, Confusion...) and a video with the legendary EGG promo shot at the Ancienne Belgique (my favourite moment in music history) which is going to appear on the forthcoming LTM DVD Umbrellas In The Sun... BTW the Discography at niagara.edu looks like it's not updated...

I agree Tim , memories, especially Glasto 81 and circa 83 - 85

Nothing too much out of the ordinary. True Faith cdv Retro bonus disc Murder 12" and apparently the orignal factory cds of Power Corruption & Lies and Low Life (made in UK by Nimbus) have become reasonably valuable. I also have a couple of picture discs 7" & 12", but these are reasonalbly common.

Nothing too rare or exciting - the Technique tour pin set designed by Saville, a nice True Faith poster, an original BM on vinyl, TBTHOG on vinyl, Soundtrack and VIDEO 5 8 6 on CD.

Tickets to their next concert.

Most valuable item in my NO/JD collection is probably Komakino flexi 7", but this was about NEW order..

Not that kind of NO gems but maybe the top three would be:

1. Run2 12"
2. Ceremony green sleeve 12"
3. Temptation 7"

Original UK printings of course.

I just counted my NO/JD record collection. I seem to own 69 (would be nice number to finish ) official releases inc. all the singles, DVD's and albums only Love Will Tear Us Apart 7" being without sleeves. When has all this stuff actually got in to my shelf freeky nutcase At least nobody can't blaim here's no Factory era New Order stuff around in Finland. I think i've only bought my Fine Time 12" and Here To Stay cds promo from abroad (from Oslo actually).

I've got several valuable no posessions,probably too many to list. Although i could say theat my most valuable no related item is my Unbelieveable minty mint copy of the jd hessian still inc original ribbon,in fact so minty mint that the rocket would shit himself if he saw it!

*Oh yeah, forgot that Soundtrack had a 3,000 limited edition... that's going to become pretty rare, isn't it? Happy to own one though I'm not the kind of fan who'd get rid of that, I'd find hard to give it away for $5,000... but you never know, just try and if I'm in serious need I might do it... ;)

Memories as well - the Technique tour in the good old US of A, when they played Temptation it was perfection. My wife keeps telling me I have a horrible memory, but that will be a moment that I will remember for a long, long time.

Hopefully the Chicago concert will have an equally memorable memory.

Perhaps someone should dig up the "What's in your collection" thread so people can decide for themselves.

Run 2 12"

Not one to really place a monetary value on anything in my collection, there's nothing I have that's extrememly rare which suits me fine. Suppose the item that might fetch a bit more, should I ever decide to sell it, and which will NEVER happen, is the first US cassette of PC&L with the track listing of Only The Lonely on it.

Very happy though to have the Paradise Garage gig and The Perfect Kiss posters hanging on the walls though.
