Hello. Just wanted to let whomever know that there’s a new Joy Division/New Order tribute out. It’s called “Love’s Shattered Pride” and is being put out by FTC Records, an indie label in Chicago. All in all, it’s pretty good. It features mostly underground bands with a couple signed bands as well. The songs are done in a wide range of styles from hard rock to synth-pop to dark electronica. Another cool feature is the cover artwork which is an original painting by Crow creator James O’Barr. It’s definitely worth checking out. more tribute. I find that tributes though are thoughtful is more of an embarassment. People trying to recreate the same songs that mastered by the original artist. Be alright if it was a cover song, that is sold into the artist rights. Though Orgy cover of Blue monday is an exception.

It was up to you to participate in the Community project instead of thinking tributes are embarassements.

I was surprised by a few cover... like that Cover of Regret which reminds me STYX 
And people talked about or Bon Jovi version of True Faith on Community

Yes not good IMO, i sample Community tracks and they dont grab my attention, why i never buy it, no Tributes do, the heart and soul isnt there. And have you heard the trance tribute to NO? really a crappy tribute and the reviews mediocre. Have you heard "Evil dust?" New order would cry if they heard this.

Wait a minute there... the remix of Angel Dust on the CommunityEP is IMHO the best thing to come out of the Community project.
And especially a nice collaboration between almanso & Zoesch.
Sure you might not like it, but to say it's an embarassment, you go way too far in this, especially with the amount of work put into this.

All I am saying is I am not a tribute type of guy. Most are not good. Sure community has a couple good ones but not worth buying. Some tributes like Evil dust is an embarrassment. I cant find the album that has it but if i did i would show you what I mean.
My only way I pay tribute to new order is buy their stuff and enjoy it. I am sure that would make the band happy.
In defense of tributes, Blue Order had one thing going for it: Casey Stratton's cover of Regret. I don't know, I just like their/her take on it.
I did recently get Love's Shattered Pride in the mail, being the cover-enthusiast I am. The standout track on that one was Blue Monday by Blackcycle. Breathed some new life into the song.
Anyone who wants to hear a good New Order tribute (other than Community) should check out Essence. Very good.

Let me guess... you don't like remixes either?
By definition, tributes/covers will (rarely) exceed the original in greatness, but they allow a listener to enjoy the track in a different shape and form.
BTW: The best to come out of Community was Kremlin's STYT. And LV of course...

Well, when I buy NewOrder stuff and enjoy it, I dont do it for them and I dont give a dam if it makes them happy or not. I do it for myself and this is more than enough for me.

Who the hell are you to know what the guys from New Order might think anyway? Are you a musician? Have you ever produced something that we might listen to and give an opinion about? Are you even able to make a review that is more interesting that the one you made and that i could sum up this way "Tribute albums are bad and are an embarassment to the original material"?
I went to see Therapy? live yesterday only knowing they've covered Isolation. And somehow they managed to make people headbang to it and changed it a bit. They even had an interlude where they slipped into She's Lost Control. Great cover but I still prefer the original. :D
