"It may seem like anyone can score a hit record these days by imitating New Order. The exception, sadly, is New Order themselves. Instead of evoking their own past, the forced cheer of this wussed-out would-be comeback makes these Eighties legends sound like Jesus Jones.

What is RS 972, LE? And where have you been?

Hey P, it's the April 21st issue of Rolling Stone, page 119. I imagine the next issue will have a review of WFTSC. Hopefully they can set Krafy aside and get to track 3, 10, 7...

Been at the in-laws. Good to be back on NOOL, no doubt!

Welcome back. I hope they spend enough time listening to WFTSC before reviewing it.

Likely not if it's Hiatt again. I mean, for fuck's sake - he gave Kelly Osbourne's "One Word" three stars. Man, that Joss Stone, though. Oooo - monkey woman!

Hey congrats on post 4,000.

Thanks for pointing it out; I hadn't even noticed. It's not like the old days when these milestones were big occasions.

Hey, 4,000 posts and coming up on the 4,000,000th visitor here. Worthy of a mention. I read a lot of posts here before having the twins to ever join in.

Good. We're very glad you're here.

You realize when you edit a post like that it leads to questions.

Same message, different post. The server being slow today has screwed with me a little.

Yes, tell me about it. Quite a day.

Have you read the Under The Radar story posted above? I found it very pleasing. More NO in '06. It's as if I've been TBTHOG.

I haven't yet, but I will now.

Looks like each country gets its own Rolling Stone review. In Oz RS gave WFTSC 4 out of 5.

Rolling Stone, though a guilty pleasure, really is the trashiest mag out there that's not an outright tabloid. Such crap opinions, except for David Fricke and one or two other sometime-editors of the old guard. I listened to 'Krafty' three times in a row when its mp3 link was first posted on this site, and the third time was the charm. What's so bad about the chorus? Barney gets away with it on this one, and the synth and bass harmonies during the verse and the modest guitar melodies at the coda are fantastic.

I tried, but failed, to post this yesterday.

Thanks for recommending that, LE. That was probably the single most interesting thing I have ever read concerning NO.

On rollingstone.com they have Krafty listed as their number 4 recommended download.
