Did any Melburnian NOOLers see todays "Hit" mag in the H-S? Full-page article based around a phone interview with Hooky, sadly no mention of either 'rising from the ashes of Joy Division", nor "just like going home for Christmas". The most interesting news to fellow Aus NOOLers was in the last few paragraphs, which read as follows (apologies for the absence of a scan/image):

"New Order concerts are few and far between. However, Peter Hook is now setting his sites on getting back on a stage. If he had his his way, he'd embark on the sort of International touring scedule that almost killed the band in the 1990s. Barney and Hooky's family - which includes a new baby - will probably curb that ambition. "It took me six weeks to recover after that Big Day Out tour, it was fantastic" Hooky says."The thing is Bernard is really, really reluctant to gig, especially after the work we had to put in on the record. He just can't get his head around touring - me and Phil have our bags packed, and Stephen's ready to do some gigs. We had a few years where we were dragging Bernard around screaming, which wasn't too much fun. We've got some dates in America, and hopefully, if the lazy bastard likes those...we'll be heading your way "

That last line, in context, brought a grin to my normally dour expression - just felt the urge to share. Adds a little weight to Dc's assertions last month of a possible Australian tour after the US dates...not that I'd ever doubt the insane old slapper he is. CTB :bear:

As I look out my window, the night sky is aglow with the luminescence of possibility. A New Order tour, wow. Excellent work CTB.

Or was that just one of Old Blue's satellites combusting on the way to orbit...

That interview was featured in NSW's Daily Telegraph as well.....and when I read it, the early bits of the interview was very familiar and initially I thought it was taken from other mags that I've read before...looks more like a cut-and-paste job from bits of actual phone interview and other sources, I suspect. ( I've seen enough episodes of TV's MEDIA WATCH to be such a sceptic....bring back Stuart Littlemore!!! )
