Picked up these mags over the weekend. And luckily for everyone, the Urb article has the "...risen from the ashes" bit everyone love so much.

Good work mate and I look forward to reading them. Unfortunately I am getting this message however:

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

ok, it's fixed. the .jpg extenstions for the larger scans were named ".JPG". that's what i get for trying to be too fancy.

WTH?? Is it too much to ask for the writers to have some basic knowledge of the band? Blue MOnday was produced by NO, nobody else. The little sidebar gives the impression Arthur Baker was partly responsible when he had nothing to do with it.

Fair point. Then again, it is Mixmag; they're known for being a bit thick and making mistakes like that.

So...Barney is a fan of film music it seems. Good for him!

Nice to see Morricone get a nod from him as his entry into music.

As for Neil Young being some of his fave albums, the sound of Hey Now What You Doing and Turn (to some extent) should reveal the genius of Neil to NOOLers everywhere.

If you want to get picky, that wasn't the song written for Pretty in Pink either.

To be fair, Bernard can't seem to remember the right Doves album for M62 Song.

the URB article is filled with inaccuracies. kinda pisses me off b/c even though the writer is most likely not a fanboy/girl like us, he didn't seem to bother with basic fact checking. awful article. i'm not asking for the washington post or new york times here, but really, if you are going to write as if you are a fan, at least your facts straight before passing them off as truth in print.

URB also should have chosen to go with New Order on the cover rather than The Faith, but their obsession with being totally hip (read Diatribe 01 in the magazine), seems to blind them.

Patsy will be overjoyed about the LMA mention.

That Word article was great - NO articles are so much better when they just let them talk...instead of the journalist boring everyone with the same old crap.

Best phrase in first article "Sumner's meticulous nature". His band-mates refer to his nature with more colorful language in other interviews.

So if "the good the bad and the ugly" is the only reason Bernard got into music, is this actually a reference to the Sex Pistols and not the movie? :D
