Well there goes Saturday up in flames. Per the Doves webstite, Jimi has been directed by the doc to rest his vocal chords for 2 - 3 weeks. The US Tour is currrently being rescheduled with the exception of Coachella, which is cancelled. This is a blow, as I was relying on Coachella for my Doves fix as I will be again out of town when they hit Philadelphia, unless that show is also being rescheduled. Oh well, this blows.

Feel your pain Joe. I have tickets to see them in Seattle next Tuesday. Luckily my plane ticket is in the form of passes that I can use anytime.
I heard he was sick during some dates in Europe, but don't know if that had anything to do with this. I have a hunch this is going to go over like a turd in a punch bowl.
So nobody else can take over in the Doves?
At least, when David Gahan lost his voice in a 1993 Depeche Mode show in Montreal, they had Martin Gore to take over...
I don't think they have anything more than Jez Williams providing some backup. Jimi better think about cutting back on the smokes or I only see his problem gettting worse before getting better.

Look at it this way, it's better if they re arrange so you have more chance of getting a full gig rather than a shortened inferior one.
