So I have been lied or Warner Music Canada didn't dare to check, but it's the UK edition.

No bonus track, nothing... so explain to me why the 1 month delay?

I bought it because I said I would, but the damned thing is priced 17.99$ at HMV... usually in Canada, new CDs are 13.99$ top, so explain this one to me too...

No posters, I didn't find it anywhere but in the New Order section, so I don't think the album will chart too well over here.

RELAX FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!!!

Don't you know how record stores work yet ??? Give them a week and the CD will probably see its price cut, and it will be among the other novelties...

Went to the Music Store during lunch and purchased the U.S. WFTSC for $13.99. I then went to the single section to see if they had Krafty, but they are not going to carry it. To my surprise I found the "60 Miles an Hour" Single with two "Someone Like You" remixes from London Records for $1.99! These remixes suck!

New Order wasn't even on the new release shelf. There was about 3 rows of Beck's latest one-good-song album though and a boatload of indy folk slop. No bonus track, no posters, no mention on their website of the some 30 listed new releases out today. No mention on the radio of their release, no airplay of their songs.

I think they have been blacklisted.

It costs more in Canada 'cause they have to spend extra to ship it across the frozen tundra and fight off polar bears.

I had to go to 3 music stores to find it.

  1. Future Shop (None)
  2. HMV (None)
  3. Music World (1 copy)

The price here was 15.99 But since it was missing the Guilt remix I choose not to get it. I'm going to wait until I get to Palm Springs and buy a US copy.

It's appalling that Canada, which is still a Commonwealth country, treats New Order like this. I feel lucky by comparison: good radio and TV airplay, dedicated listening posts, and TWO weeks at number 37! (better than Get Ready which sold relatively well already).

Yeah and Motley Crue gets all this hype and promotion. I guess you had to suck your entire career and be complete money starved fame milking douchebags while on hiatus in order to get any kind of promotion. North America, the "Look at me, look at me! I have assless chaps!" continent.

U.S. promotion: My cousin says she's seen TV ads for WFTSC (I don't have TV reception because cable is too bloody expensive). The ads feature the ever-popular Blue Monday. Whatever sells Cds, I guess.... :thumb:

Well, that's good then. More people to buy the album there.

It was on a big display at the front of the store at HMV here in Laval. My girlfriend spotted the bright orange No cover right away when we entered the store

Remind me to go next to HOME instead of WORK the next time...

I assure you, downtown HMV only displays new "DVD releases"... and I had a hard time finding the new releases.. so I went downstairs directly to the New Order bin...

I love Americans. It must be pricy in the southern States too, they probably had to pay them more to fight off the inbreds. :ignore:

Picked up my copy at CDPlus in North Bay (cultural wasteland), where it was featured prominently on the new releases rack.

I got my prominently displayed copy at A&B Sound for 15.99.:thumb:

I was wondering about that hidden track that I've heard about on here. I don't think it's on the Canadian edition. It doesn't start after Working Overtime, and you can't go back from track 1. So what's up with that?@! Is it any good?

It wouldn't be hidden if someone could find it, would it?

I tried to buy the US version from Amazon.com, but they sent me a European version instead. I filled in the online return form and got an email this morning stating that they will send me a US one. They don't want me to send the original one back, either!

:thumb:

I now have a spare EU version. Perhaps I should donate it to Spotnick to offer as a competition prize.

Geez, I take a swipe at my own country's geographic ignorance and I still get shit for it. Tough crowd...

hehe..North Bay - that's where I'm from, and cultural wasteland doesn't even begin to describe it! but then I grew up there back when there wasn't even a cdplus, walmart, or even half the restuarant/fast food places that there are now...I still haven't gone to get it here in Ottawa. too busy last night and today (woo hoo - my birthday  ) so I wouldn't have time to listen to it anyhow

Hugs on the Peace Bridge. That's why they built the goddamn thing, right?

Actually, I grew up a Canadophile, thanks to (1) some summer sailing trips around Long Point to Port Dover, (2) a car trip to the Ontario Science Center, and (3) a roto-antenna on our roof that could pick up pre-NBC SCTV, Global, What Will They Think of Next, Hilarious House of Frightenstein, Wait Till Your Father Gets Home...

...listening to "The Box" (the French-Canadian band) on London's Best Rock (before they went classic rock)...

And you get vinegar with your french fries.

No bonus track, though. That sucks.

...And arguably one of the best tv shows of all time 'You Can't Do That on Television'!!! starring an unknown Alanis Morrisette, a unshaven drunken line cook, teenagers telling jokes from inside lockers and buckets and buckets of green slime! God that show was awesome..even my cynical dad would watch it with me.

Well I finally made it into Best Buy, picked it up for 13.99, sticker says 21.99 though. I assume that's the new release price.

Still pissed that there is no bonus track. It looks like itunes Canada has the bonus track for individual purchase, so I will probably pick it up from there.

Anyone know if Jetstream will get the single release here? Or should i get it on import?

The Box just released a new album BTW.

vinegar? well, typically, you don't, you have to ask for it, like ketchup...

Some americans were offended by the fact that they don't automatically give ketchup with fries over here...

Krafty is not a single in Canada, so I don't think Jetstream will be, unless it climbs in the UK charts enough to convince Warner Music Canada it has potential...

I assumed it was a single because of the video getting airplay and I thought I was it Edge 102's Thursday 30 listings.

Thanks for the info.

When you say that KRAFTY is not a single in Canada, you surely mean that a CD single is not released in the stores, not that radio stations won't receive the single promo AT LEAST ???????
