I guess it's due to the US release and the beginning of the tour.
But we're going for 4 million this week-end, that's almost a sure thing.
I'm sorry if the site is slow, but there are a lot of people online right now, but we don't get any "server too busy" or any of those type of error, so that's a good thing.
I have plans to speed up the forum a little this week-end, Microsoft released an upgrade ;)
Are the stats of this site open to the public? Would be interesting. But otherwise... everybody checking the stats every fifteen minutes would create even more traffic :D

Well, the stats are one of the reason this website is slow in the morning, they were compiling at 6AM EST (GMT-5), I switched it to 4AM EST, where the site is less active.. it's a long process, and the site is very VERY slow while it's doing.
I can probably publish parts of the stats, I don't want to put them all up, not sure some people in here would like everybody to know how many megs of bandwidth they are using

So that's why it was slow at 6 am! I knew there had to be a reason!

Indeed it was too slow to use yesterday for quite a long time.
But i guess with all the extra TRAFFIC it is to be expected.

Stats were running them, I don't see any other explanation...
Just thank God Trevor doesn't have full-time access to a computer; his usual volume of posts, combined with all of the recent traffic would make a bigger server essential. ;)
I checked it the last few days, and the rapid decrease of server speed starts every day exactly at 10 o' clock (GMT-1) and lasts for at least 1 1/2 hours. In this time NOOL is nearly unreachable. Hope this is of any help.
Exactly the time I post this message everything has gone to normal speed, "normal" here in the meaning of fast

Nic explained above this is caused by compiling site stats, now changed to start at 4 am EDT.
