Greetings to one and all, New Order in at no. 8 in the UK charts, mmmm, not bad - I think Liv should win a bun for guessing that. Five at no. 1, big surprise. Intersting that throughout the chart rundown NO were not mentioned once for the top spot? - not even mentioned actually.

Fuji Rock Festival BBC Choice on Saturday night, erm, 3 hours I sat through that to dig out 2 NO songs - 60MPH and Temptation. 60MPH - Andy's Swan - come on, what a cracker of a song!!! - one of the worries for Get Ready and this live version was like a beacon of hope. Was a good live performance of this, Hooky had some decent clobber on, chunky trainers and some mad army kegs and the man Bernard even sang correctly all the way through - I did like the Hooky/Barney combo chorus - Andy you owe me an apology for unnecessay worry. One of the new boys, some skinny get with a comedy hat on was in the background giving it some chord backing. No Gillian, no surprise.

Small interview with Hooky who said nothing and a very, very poor Temptation, I mean, it was awful. It looked to me like the proper gig (i.e. all 1 and a half hours of it) was a warm up for the following tours. God Temptation was thoroughly slaughtered.

Not sounding mean (as I have it on tape) but nobody is missing anything.

Behind Close Doors, In my opinion comrades, good beginning, kind of drifts eh? - Cannot for the life of me see the Arthur Baker influence.

I only said I wasn't keen on 60MPH - which I'm not. It's Slow Jam & Rock The Shack that are the 'average' tracks on the album IMHO.

If the whole album were made up of 60 MPH's and Slow Jam's I probably wouldn't have commented. But compare these to the awesome 'Someone Like You' and 'Primitive Notion' and, well, it's like comparing 'Twenty Four Hours' to 'Failures'.

Don't get me wrong, It's a great album when compared to the poor Republic but classic? I don't think so. Classic to me would imply an 'Unknown Pleasures', 'Closer' or 'Low Life'.

PS. If I'd known, I would've run you a copy off - just as long as you bought an 'official' copy when it came out :-)

Personally, I think Hooky looks better at the moment than he has in YEARS! (They all do, specially Gillian, she looks better than ive seen her! Steve and Barney always look pretty groovy to me anyway!)

The pictures in the Observer last weekend were rocking. Miranda Sawyer said Hooky dressed like a man half his age, and I think he does, and gets away with it....
