Just checking out my college tape again - yeah, the one with the ceremony/temptation thing on it, and I find a version of World in Motion that I don't seem to own, that I got from some promo vinyl at that stupid college radio station again. honest, i shoulda just swiped these! Anyhow, this version ends with the backup singers repeating "it's not over" until at the very end the MC says "well it is now" and the song ends. it doesn't seem to be the b-side, no alla, subbuteo, etc as far as i can tell. Do you know the name of the mix and where i can find it? Thanks!

That would be the carabinieri mix. That's one of the more difficult mixes to find on CD but it's on the standard US and UK 12" singles.

Would it have been on the US tape single of WIM? I found the single on tape at a used record store but bought it for a friend who's obsessed with WIM. I do remember seeing this name of the mix on there, but wouldn't the tape have the same tracks as the CD?

DAMMIT meant canadian. Canada, Australia - I get the colonies all mixed up! (Don't worry I live in USA - we were one once too!)

Unfortunately, the Canadian CD single is quite rare, so the best bet would be to keep an eye out on ebay and prepare to spend quite a bit of cash...
The UK promo CD is even rarer (one went recently for over 200 quid 
)...
Of course, the UK 12" remix is readily available at not too much money, so that may be a suitable alternative?

Well it wasn't quite rare... it was easy to find, but I believe when the internet became more popular, they must have sold most stock on it, because you don't see any of these lately...
It was hard to find any Canadian New Order single in the US. I was an import buyer at one time and I remember it was difficult getting a hold of the World in Motion CDs and when we did finally get them, they were significantly more expensive than the UK versions. Of course, the real collectors knew there were benefits to the Canadian versions.

Hmmm. I'm in California and managed to get the Canadian releases of 1981-FEP-1982, Blue Monday 1988, Fine Time, Round & Round, World in Motion and Blue Monday-95. You just have to know where to look.

Ah, but try and find any of them nowadays, and you'll run into difficulties!
They're all collectable (bar Blue Monday 95?) for the extra tracks that never made it onto CD (bar the ultra-scarce 'Remixes In Motion' CD)...
