I was wondering which song was played at midnight at the parties/clubs that people attended on NYE?

We had Intergalactic by the Beasties, and there was not one NO cd to be found all night.

Well I actually played Decades on my keyboards - spent half the night programming the bass parts as I was flued up and wasn't going out. Rather than play the record this year I decided to play it myself. Shoddy it was, but sod it !

The club I was in with a good ladyfriend of mine played 'Happy New Year' by ABBA. We held each other tight and wished away each others heartache. Only time will tell if our wishes will come true! :smoking:

Had no music playing around that time..was watching some movie with the absolutely fabulous girls.Had enough trouble handling that. Now that we have wokenup again and opened the last bottle of Asti Spumante we are still not capable of picking some music to play let alone put it on. But i am proud to say that my brother bought...(the best of)New Order!!One of these days he might even start posting here.My mission in life is finally becoming succesful.

I waited til about 3 in the morning and popped in my copy of HATYM. I had already fast forwarded it to the Love Will Tear Us Apart video and made a special effort to avoid the usual "Dick Clark's Cocking New Year's Bleed" so I could honestly say that i welcomed in '02 with Joy Division. :guitar:

I'll record it properly over the new few weeks, in a studio, along with a couple of other tracks.

The first song I heard in 2002 was Chic's "Chic Cheer", therefore I saw the new year in dancing like a crazy thing!!

There was no music at my place of festivities either...so when Amanda and I jumped in the car to go back to the hotel...what greeted us...why, it was Crystal...by some band that I've heard of...once or twice...I think they covered some Orgy tune...but I'm not positve...

Well I'll fly the flag here and say that I was crankin to the sparkling Lee Coombs version of Crystal, on the dance floor at a little dance party called Salty'n'Delicious at the Port Beach here on a balmy, hot West Australian night.

Jose Padilla played, as did a shit hot local lad called Paul Malone who went off with a set that included a phat version of Granmaster Flash's White Lines, some warped Daft Punk, the Lee Coombs remix of Criminal Element Orchestra (top tune), the Satisfaction Skank, the Jaxx Where's Your Head At, a cut up Superstylin, plenty of treats.. And there were some nude fire jugglers dancing around.. What a night. A refreshing change from all the boring as bollocks prog house schtuff you get these days..

I think Radio One actually played 'Hey Girl, Hey Boy' by the Chems at midnight? I was round a mates, then actually went to see the Chemicals in action at Turnmills shortly after. Fuct if I can remember much of their set but I did run into Seb Briggs down there much later on. Not sure he caught too much of them either, mind.
