Waiting for the Sirens' Call is set to debut at #49 on the Billboard Top 200. I thought it'd have a better showing. I don't remember where Get Ready debuted. One thing is with album downloads, I think not as many people went out to buy this. The album did very well on ITunes chart.
Sales for first week are 19,852.
I remember WFTSC album sales charting in top 10 on iTunes for a few weeks. Do these iTunes sales before 4/26 get counted into the figure as well?
The rasputin story here in the bay area had WFTSC ranked at #4 across all stores...hmmmmmm
Also...it looks like Keane's album peaked at #45 and it got massive airplay here in the states...so not sure if thats meaningful or not
One other thought...since even 1000-2000 sold can mean the difference between 10 chart positions...I wonder how many people bought it over the internet from the UK...not something that you could do years ago...also this would naturally disadvantage artists that were foreign and had a release date prior to the one in the US...and ones that were given to ordering over the internet.
It seems that Krafty and Jetstream airplay might follow this official release. It could go higher if either become any kind of a hit. Look at Gwen's album, its never been higher.
Keep buying it, popularity inn the US may reflect back on the rest of the world. It actually droped out of the top 50 this weekhere in Oz.

Cool. Now ditch "Krafty," rush Jetstream into the shops and pay someone at VH1 a huge mountain of coke to play the video nonstop.
And have George Lucas digitally superimpose the guy from the Crystal video over Barney's face.
Kudos to them! Pretty damn good for an album which has been available for weeks.
However, I think it'll drop off the top 200 completely by its third week :(
But who cares, right? Profits aside, its mere chart position is no indication of quality.

It's certainly not but it might be an indication as to whether or not they do more touring in the states.

That's not bad, and like I was saying before, if Jetstream gets some airplay it might keep it in the charts a little while too.
maybe if even half the folks here who downloaded the mp3s would go out and buy it, it would hit #30....
I just bought my legit copy this monday. you get the remix, plus the nifty photoglossy images.... (i have never seen a cd booklet use this supernice paper stock... is this a new thing? seems pretty pricey!)
plus, the cd sounds a hell of a lot better than those mp3s...

Yeah! I didn't d/l it, but was mailed a copy of someone who had and I still bought the album the day it came out to help the chart postion and to get the remix.But I had the album for weeks before it came out.
Also, who wants to hear some crappy mp3, the new am radio, when you can go get the real thing and also support the band.

The building sales charts. This is the first time I've had an interest in following this site, so I'm not sure that this matches Billboard 200 exactly. I should've mentioned that in the original post. #46 is even better:)
