What would it be like if it was a proper JD song instead of NO? Would it be bigger than LWTUA?

How would it differ, apart from the vocals? It's still the same band.

But the song would be more popular, JD was in the cusp of success, and NO then was torn apart from a tragedy.

Maybe the band would be more popular, but personally, I prefer LWTUA to Ceremony. I don't even like Ceremony, really.

I am not much of LWTUA except the more raw demo version in box set.

There are a couple of live JD versions of Ceremony, although pretty rough. I honestly think that it suits Barney better than Ian.

I agree, the production would have been the same, only the vocals would have been different and i think most fans of JD would have known NO were releasing Ceremony. Weren't there posters around saying "New Order Were Joy Division" at the time?

Ceremony sounds punkier in all of the Joy Division recordings of it.

The version on Still would have been awesome if it didn't start about halfway through.

You just need one of the audience sources then. Or the soundcheck from that show.

Where can you get that from, your Holiness?
