  1. What british team was featured in the video?
  2. I know they play this song on British soccer games, do they play it around the world?

That would be the England national side, comprising of Gazza, Barnes etc.

I'd better sneak in and help out before some of the English lads bite!

The team is England (as in "Eng-er-lund") and if Monster's reading I'll save him the effort of telling you it's their 'football' team rather than their 'soccer' team.

I doubt very much that other countries would adopt it as an anthem for reasons you've spelt out above.

does it matter if it's football or soccer, they are all same to me. Over here football is a pigskin game. But the rituals all men/ and women are same, chips/ beer and gambling.

"We're playing for England Engaland", should have been a give away.

I get your point but they tend to get a bit uppity about it seeing as they invented the game and probably the term 'football'. So when in Rome ...

When I first saw the video and never heard of New Order years ago I always thought it was Chris Waddle singing and New Order making the music.
