Is this true? Another "best of" released on May 31st?

According to this french website...

With the publication of the Jetstream single, New Order will launch a "best of" compilation on May 31st. It seems that all their greatest hits would be gathered on this compilation, even if no other information have been revealed yet. New Order would be very soon on tour through Europe.

Can't be true, is it?

It won't be long before there are more compilations than proper studio albums. :confused2:

just remember... International has not been released in the UK, so it might actually be true.

However it would be stupid to do this now, when another album is on the way...

Well if this is true, that's great. I don't see the point in complaining "Oh not another, we have a few already". But who cares, the more the better really, and plus it's another CD to add to a NO collection, great news I say.

Wouldn't it be nice if it were a dvd.

Another one being released is a joke. There's no need.

The best ofs are breeding, call environmental health...

Even if it "officially" wasn't it physically was. The single disc version was all over HMV, Virgin etc. I even picked up my French 2CD import in an indie record store here in Edinburgh, there were loads on the shelf going for a tenner. It may as well have been released over here really.

I think International would've been the ultimate single disc New Order best of if they'd included the full twelve inch of Perfect Kiss and the original seven inch of Ceremony rather than the album versions and replaced 60 MPH with Ruined in a day (better song). I think that would've been an amazing disc for a new fan to discover. I don't think the cover's that bad either, all Saville stuff seems to grow on me after a while, I find it hard to really dislike it.

Another one?! Eeeek! I'd still buy it, of course, being the silly fan that I am ;) even though I'm sure it won't have anything I don't already have, same with everyone else. Just like when they released their boxset, Retro - some of the tracks were questionable but more importantly they're releasing another album! Why a boxset when another album is in the oven? Comes down to £ & $ & all the other respective currencies. :\ohwell:

I agree with you, Ally. They really should've put the original 12 inch of TPK on International (and the original Ceremony would've been nice, too). Original Temptation 12 inch version would've been appropriate, too. 60 Miles an Hour had no business on there, or really, Here to Stay (despite my fondness for the track). All comes down to marketing. I think whomever created the "International 2" compilation quite frankly did a better job!!

As I told you, I have no idea where they got their info... so far it's the first I hear about it!

If they release another compilation then i get the feeling another album is not on its way.

This new "Best Of" might be International in fact. Warner may have produced a new serie of International copies

If there were ever plans for another 'Best Of' then the best idea would be to ask the fans what THEY want. Surely that makes more sense - certainly business-wise - if the fans want it, they'll buy it. And all those who are just 'browsing' in record shops might do the same...

Didn't they do that for International?

They asked us what we wanted, and that was actually the result.

I've always doubted since Shellshock is on it, but...

Along w/ the butchered edit of TPK, with no Ceremony/Temptation.....what we wanted....? :skeptic:

I don't remember them consulting when they put International together. How else do you explain that Temptation is missing.

I believe that they consulted when the US Best Of was put together.
