Just hope it works - if JET isnt a top 10 after all this promotion we may not see another single . . . & worse they could consider shelving the next album. Gotta hope that NO is a serious cash cow for them (for our own sakes - I want more new albums)

I doubt that they'd shelve it...since its already 80% completed...and I'm sure it will make some money in Europe...they would just probably release and do little promotion...like for Get Ready.
I’m sure the band are pretty well off at this stage, and I’d like to think their reasons for writing and recording are more than just financial.
Lots of their (not nearly as financially successful) contempories are still touring. Echo and the Bunnymen, ACR, the Durutti Column, etc. I personally couldn’t really give a toss where the new album charts, and I don’t think its that important to the band.
If Warner decide not to push the next album so hard, then so what? It’ll just mean less tedious (Blue Monday/Ian and Ashes/Etc) interviews and Jonathan Ross type promos with the band , which is better for all involved.
The quality of the songs and the standard of the gigs are what matter to me as a fan – and I’m sure matter more to the band than how many times they (as David Brent would say) get to show their “anecdotalist” side in the NME or on parky.
