uh? I thought iPods were all the same size...?

It won't be available for sale as far as I know, just promotional stuff.. might have a few to give away (just the skin, not iPods)

This sucks the big one.

Digital download exclusives are just annoying. Will they appear on an eventual US single release or promo I wonder? I hope so. Much prefer to have all versions released in some sort of tangible format.

Don't like the way this is heading, from a collector's standpoint.

I know this is no consolation, but those mixes are probably dreadful, DC.

Possibly Pats, although Heller's done some good work before.

You're quite correct in that it's not much consolation to the completist. The completist is a touch irrational and must collect every mix, even if they are ordinary.

I wonder if the remix contest is opened to people in the UK only...

What is good about this is that you need to actually buy the CD to participate.. which was not the case for Crystal.

I think we should make this huge on NOOL, having our own remix contest in some way... it worked quite well for Community...

Well, DC, I too would like to have them to be able to judge for myself.

I think my point was that if they were good they probably wouldn't be shunted to these formats.

there's no way in hell that Pete Heller mix will be download only. white labels will definitely see the shelves in fine DJ shops near you!

Additional news from Warner:

I've just found out we are no longer manufacturing the New Order iPod skins. Can you make sure that you don't mention them on your website as part of the U-Myx iPod prize?

Also, we no nothing about a best of New Order release! Must just be a rumour.

It's a known fact that they are keepting the 7 left overs for the 2006 album.

Well, as a New Order track/mix completist, I want these 'exclusive' remixes on vinyl or CD. Not one for buying mp3s when a crashed hard drive could wipe 'em all out.

Anyone know if there are promo vinyl or CDs with these four mixes on. I already wasted money last month getting the "exclusive" remix of 'Krafty' from Napster, only to find out it was the normal album version. Going to have to boycott these "virtual" releases, and stick to collecting "real" releases from my completists perspective from now on, especially when you consider the lower sound quality of them. I begrudge having to sign up to three different download platforms just to grab a few mixes that'll no doubt eventually be on a promo or US single release somewhere.

I mentioned this in a thread a few weeks back Ronny, if you can be bothered digging it up.

It's out May 30-ish and from memory it's one six-track CD with all the UK mixes minus the video and u-myx. Think we get the radio edit instead.

I'm going to walk into a shop and buy this.

Then I'm going to take it home and listen to it.

Twice.

Unless the Tom Neville Dub 9 is the same as the Tom Neville Dub, no, they are non on any known promo so far...

But if this gets released in the US, we might get lucky... who knows.

What I don't like about music store is that they won't offer a loseless solution... it's always compressed music files...

How come these digital downloads aren't showing up in the Song Browser?

I was looking for the iTunes exclusive mix of Krafty. I have about five free songs from drinking pepsi and want to check it out, but I can't find out what the name of that mix was.

Can anyone describe what exactly is this "New Order's Bunker mix"?

Well I thought the date could have changed. Shame bpou not having the vid on it.

There wasn't an iTunes exclusive mix. Napster claimed to have an "exclusive" 'Bernard's Re-Edit', but that just turned out to be the album mix.

Give me a tactile single with a nice cover, that I can put on the shelf in my study any day!
