If you are on a windows system: On your main screen, right click - will open a little window where properties should be the bottom option - click on this will open the display properties window, then click on the settings tab & there you should see the resolution

that's too much fooking work...acutally...
I think I'm on the 800X600 on the desktop and the 1024X768 thing on my laptop...
Best practice usually say...
If you have a 14" monitor, you should be on 640x480 If you have a 15" monitor, you should be on 800x600 If you have a 17" monitor, you should be on 1024x768 If you have a 19" monitor, you should be on 1280x1024
If you have very good sight, you might upgrade from those "standards"...
NOOL is 1024x768 based as it is right now.

But you have more space to do things ;)
Some people here work with 2 monitors just for that ;)

No way, everyone who has 14" here uses 800x600.
1024x768@8, don't ask, on my laptop 2x1280x1024@32 on my desktop 1024x768@32 on any other box I have bar my old Macintosh and SGI gear that never goes online these days
You know that you can just do a javascript query and any modern browser will report the screen resolution and colour depth? Would save this kind of thread

Well, depends of the people really... I haven't seen one of these for a while though... do they still produce them?
most standard computer users have theirs set to 1024x768. it's pretty much the standard resolution for web site development. at least that's what i've been taught for my web dev. work.

Don't think so, but lots of people who bought computers 10 or 15 years ago, like me, don't expend money changing the monitor. I don't use PC at home except for internet and text and other little things. So, I and a lot of people still uses the old 14" (I have still a Syncmaster 3!).
1024 x 768 on a four-year old KDS 15"
Not horrible, but sometimes I like to use the good ole 1280 x 960 to get extra milage out of this shite monitor ![]()
