Just been looking through the collaboration singles section of the discography to see what shit (and I do mean shit, since I dislike almost all the side project stuff) I've been missing out on.

Earliest single mentioned was Hooky playing bass on some 1983 song by this very Aryan looking tart named Martha.

What's the deal with this? Was she some sort of pop person like the Tiffany mess in the U.S.?

Benny,

It's dear old Martha Ladly, best known as front woman of Martha and the Muffins (best known for "Echo Beach, far away in time...") but artistically at her finest during her time with the Associates. She and MacKenzie made some absolute dynamite together. I have no idea what this record's like but she has a great voice and quite the pedigree.

It's Saville's wife (or ex-wife), Martha from Martha and the Muffins.

BTW David, how come you think all side-project is shit? Seriously, there are so many good songs in this that could have been great New Order songs, it's a little coming too soon to conclusions...

My musical tastes just fall to the bleak Joy Division side of NO's sound...not the sort of watery dance pop than clogged up most of Republic and was practiced by...oh...a good 80% of the combined songs from all the side projects. Movement at the top, Technique and Republic at the bottom...what can I say?

You mean ex-girlfriend, don't you?

As far as I know she is the ex-Mrs Saville. It's her painting on the front of the 1981-1982 EP.
