Let's say you're making a tape for a friend who's interested in New Order but not familiar with their tunes. Time comes to put the tracks on, and you wonder: SHOULD I INCLUDE "WORLD IN MOTION"? It's a very simple question, but how do you answer? Hmmm?

You did say "friend," right? Obviously, then, you would not include World In Motion.

Were Mr. Sumner and crew truly our friends. they too would have left this one off of any recording medium.

World In Motion would have been much better liked if it had their usual type of lyric. Kinda similar to True Faith it would be regarded as one of their best but those fuckin lyrics...............!!!!!!!

i actually like the b-side mix. i used to dream of living in england and WIM fit perfectly in my dreams. i made a bathroom compilation for showering/shaving and that's number 7, right after the making out mix of Vanishing point. sounds nice with a razor in your hand. i also liked touched by the hand of cicallina (sp?) by pop will eat itself.

Another poppies fan. I enjoyed the Ciciolina song. It is that football hooligan thing i beleive. In Oz we don't have any of this singing in the crowd stuff so i was always enraptured by songs like swing low sweet chariot and you will never walk alone. I admit to liking the hooligan chorus in World in Motion but i would not use this song as a measure to what NO really sounds like

Include the b-side. I allways prefered that one to the 'some of the crowd are on the pitch...' version.

Always thought the best mix was the Weatherall one.. The No Alla Violenza or somesuch..? What's happened to Weatherall these days.. He used to be such a dance innovator.. The Sabres still around?

Also have that Mark Bell WIM 1996 remix tucked away somewhere on a vinyl picture disc.. Don't recall it being that memorable however.

Weatherall is still around he's not really aiming at the commercial end of the dance market anymore. A pity I'd say, who listens to clever clever noodly doodly electronica anyway? Apart from me.

Let's not forget the naff lyrics were Keith Allen's doing.
