Just wondering if anyone else heard strong echoes of The Fall in "Working Overtime." I had no trouble "hearing" Mark Smith's growl in the repetition of the word "Overtime," as well as in the deadpan delivery of the lyrics. Also, the musical repetition, a Fall hallmark, jangly guitars (weird for recorded New Order), driving bass, even some of the lyrical themes--all of it made me think, "Ah, New Order's doing an homage to a 1980s Fall sound." Considering the Mancunian lineage and history of both bands, it makes sense. Thoughts? Any Mancs out there wish to weigh in?
