Oddly I don't like World that much, but I love Guilt. Not much of a fan of the piano, and World isn't as interesting as Guilt.
World is kinda cliche late 80s-ish, kinda vaguely disco-ish, has questionable female vocals... was improved by remix
Guilt is kinda cliche late 90s-ish, very disco-ish, has questionable female vocals... was improved by remix which became the album version
Depends which version you are talking about...
Overall, I'd say GIAUE, but the perfecto remix of World still rocks..
Both are shite. I even hate that World video although many people seem to be fascinated by it. But to be fair to the starter of this thread I think I'd go for Guilt if I had to pick just one. ![]()

Truth.
It's also fun as "spot the band"-contest for people who don't know the video...

You know why I think it's not? Cause the camera stops just for one moment, I think before the stairs and it completely ruined my vision of a perfect video. Do call me pedantic if you like ................. :D
World. I just watched the video again last night and it's amazing. How much do you think it cost?
'Guilt...'sounds more like an early 90's dance song than World.
I voted for World as Guilt's only been with us for a few short months but that choice may have changed in a year or so. I like both alot really, Guilt was great to hear after the mostly electronica free Get Ready. For World, there are some really cool remixes with the Perfecto Edit being the best IMO; four minutes of a really cool dance track there. The Brothers in Rhythm is also a mammoth 12" job minus the female backing vox if I remember. The album version sounds a bit sparse but has it's moments; I like the lyrics in the verses.
I really enjoy Guilt too and the Mac Quayle mix is as much of a hit with me as it seems to be with everyone else. Quayle was a genius to include so much Hooky bass which is most likely why alot of people feel it's easily on par with the album mix. I'd love to hear more mixes of Guilt which is partially why I was so disappointed with the Krafty/Jetstream singles. Fair enough no b-sides because of the next album, but 15 remixes each of each title track got extremely dull after a while. They should've commissioned one or two more tracks off WFTSC as remixes for the singles.
Good poll though, both similar genre tracks and represents the same bone of contention amongst fans who hate backing vocals ![]()

You are not alone Maya; I don't like the video either. I prefer Spooky myself. :D

World would've been near perfect if they'd managed to synchronise everything for one take
The intro bit outside the hotel all seems to flow well but once they get inside they obviously switch to a different take. Still a great video in my opinion, an unfortunate rarity for the band as they've done some right old shite for music promos in their time.
Spooky's a laugh though.
Ally.
I think they are both great but World is one of their best songs in my opinion. It edges out Guilt.

World has a boring, black and white video set in a pretentious setting. The only reason people probably give a fuck about it is that it seems artsy with its black and white video and vignettes of aristocrats' lives; also it may seem like a good video because hey no one has a box on their fucking head, and there are no flying, bouncing pills.
Instead it's actually boring and bland, and this in its mediocrity of a classy video, it perfectly matches the bland dance song.
At least Spooky is so bad it's funny.

Elitist pig! Don't throw around your intellectual allusions around me. The only French people to be referred to when making any form of joke should be Balzac. :D
Oh well I guess I just do not understand what people like about the video. Maybe they have the hots for the elderly Mediterranean woman at the beginning of the video ![]()
I (think I) prefer Guilt - World on the album always seemed to be sandwiched between to better songs, on its own (with the video) I do like it but I think Guilt has a little more va-va-vum

World.
With or without the perfecto mix.
It was (strangely) one of the 1st NewOrder songs I liked. Seems very strange now.
Is Oakenfold/perfecto mixing any of the WFTSC songs?
Any Irish Onliners off to the Electric Picnic?
World in my opinion is a much better track... although I think both are pretty weak tracks in their album form.
No mix of Guilt will ever live up to the Perfecto and World In Action mixes of World though... ![]()
I choose World because the organ is cool as hell. And I prefer the tune. And the good remixes.
HOly crap...could this be any more even???? I just cast the 60th 30/30 tying vote! Wild...I thought "World" would be ahead by a longshot...although I do adore GIAUE
