vikings badge

anyone know where i can get a vikings badge?

i got mine in a cracker jack box.

i did my best! but you'll have to ask them. i even took them to the lower east side tenement museum for a bit of history. our tour guide was liz shevchenko. the boys were all giddy because of the 'taras shevchenko' connection. i was all excited because i went to high school with her! small world...

*I don't know about the American gigs, but if the shorter and female element comes to the front row they know they're going to have a hard time... I've been there only once, at the Apollo 1998 comeback gig, and it was great to see the band but it was enough to have my sorry bones fucked by the pressure of the audience. Had I been a short female, I'd have ended the gig at the hospital... Only rugby players can survive a hot front at a New Order gig...

Maybe I've had this Vikings thing all wrong in my head. I kinda thought, The Vikings were diciples of Hooky, you know "half breed viking twat", norse bass god...the viking music...all of that.

Hence my desire for a badge to proclaim my true faith.

Front row looks really scarey at NO gigs, but I would be drawn to it no less, would have to get close enough to hear Hooky's amp direct not thru PA :) But I've never seen them, and prob never will. I got no money for oxegen, and even if I had.....3 days standing in mud with drunks ( made worse by there always being some moron from my side of the border who likes to bring his nazi beliefs with him, who instanlt makes all Northerners public enemy No.1), just to see a forshortenned version of the same set they'll be playing everywhere......errrrrrm no ta actually. Bollox I wish I hadn't found out about the QUB gig in 85/86 the day after it happenned.

i had the pleasure of standing (and jumping) with the vikings at the NYC gig and there were, i'd say, 8-10 people in front of us so we were definitely not in the back. indeed, we were on hooky's side as mandated by the lads.

Tapers in the front row? Ain't such a good place, is it? Tapers' position should be right in front of the mixing desk, there you should get the best sound, at least that's what I used to do, when I was taping. But maybe I was wrong all the time???

should always tape in front of the mixing desk... not that i've ever taped, but i have played live a million times in my youth and that IS where the best sound is...

I often wonder why folks want to be so close to the band, when the best sound is a bit back... but then again, i am not the kind to ask for autographs either... what is the point?

are you there for the music or to have rockstar sweat drip on you.... being straight and male, I go for the music...

and the best music is back a bit. nearest to the mixing desk...

*I know, but being close is wonderful because you see everything so well... and it was fantastic when Hooky gave me his plectrum at a Monaco gig from the stage... Anyway those are experiences you wanna have for the first times, lately I preferred to stay a bit back too, mostly to avoid an excessive crowd pressure... But the memories of those early front rows are still some of my most treasured...

What are the qulifying requirements then? I got my first New Order record bout 20 years ago. First saw them live in 1987, and twice since. I have just about every official release. What else is there?

BTW, you do know that was the theme from "the vikings" I was DAAA'ing up there right ? :) They've used that as intro I believe, as well as we've-fooked-off-for-a-joint-before-the-encore music.
